Unknown? “ She said she was paid less than male co-stars, even though she had more box office success, with films such as Jumanji (1995) and Bring It On (2000). "I was very young and it just felt like at the time, what do you do?" she said. "I was 17, I was still learning my taste in film. I didn't even think to ask," she added. Dunst has previously referred to the pay gap between her and actor Tobey Maguire, who she starred alongside in Spider-Man in 2002, as "very extreme". (It’s a very confusing thing the way so many men get in their feelings at the idea of women being paid the same as the men who work alongside them).

I still don't know who she is. Or care.

Ahem. Is there no end to the BBC's racism. "And after nearly ten years off our screens, Wolf Hall is back for its final series titled The Mirror And The Light – with a notably more diverse cast of actors portraying the Tudor nobles. Jane Seymour's sister-in-law Anne, whose character name has been changed to Nan for the series, is played by mixed-race British actress Cecilia Appiah, while Sarah Priddy, of Bahamian descent, plays their mother Lady Margery. Meanwhile Thomas Wyatt, a Tudor courtier and poet who introduced the sonnet to England, will be played by Amir El-Masry, an Egyptian-British actor. I'm cool with mis-racing actors if they are. Bring on the blackface. Also, an actor should be good enough to convince me in their role without needing to be constricted by their actual ethnicity.
I'd be perfectly happy with a Chinese Elizabeth I. Or a Nigerian Charles Darwin. It's fine. They just need to move past their racism shame.

As long as there’s not a single peep from anyone anywhere when the next Bond is black or a woman then I might believe that people are unconcerned about the race or gender of actors. Otherwise I suspect it’s a one-way thing.
Of course there are two things at work:
Doing A Trudeau
And
Accessibility for minority actors who miss out on the vast majority * of roles that are specifically targeted at white able-bodied cis men.
* obviously not certain kinds of villain, who can be cast as black or Muslim for reasons of cliche.

wow, the racists are on a real roll today, its a veritable avalanche spread over several threads.
Must be exhausting to have to spin and frame everything to fit into a narrow racist window, its certainly tedious.

That might work if I hadn't been the one arguing for removing barriers. We centrist, inclusive, Tories don't seek to build, maintain, or profit from bigotry and a manufactured sense of disadvantage.

LOL! This coming from the man who insists on viewing every news story through the prism of race. Hilarious.

Disgusting racist bigotry. "The theatre company behind a new West End production of Romeo and Juliet has condemned the "deplorable racial abuse" directed towards one of its stars. The show, which features Spider-Man actor Tom Holland as Romeo, unveiled its full cast last week, including Francesca Amewudah-Rivers as Juliet." www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-68739588Oddly enough, the article doesn't say who the target of the gittishness was. What's their beef, exactly? I suspect this is a PR stunt. What does it matter if Romeo is played by a black chick?
