Yeah, I did wonder if this might have been good for you. Yeah, cos I doubt they'll be training surgeons this way, GP's and hospitalists most likely. I may have got in medial school on the back of already having a couple of degrees, but in my mid 30's with small kids, mortgage and no bank of mum and dad it was never an option, and at that point they were offering bursaries to train nurses due to the massive shortage left by 18 years of cuts under Thatch and Major, though I think Cameron got rid of these now.

There used to be a scheme, or it might still exist, where you could do a sort of fast track training to become a GP. I think the idea was that you could train people in their 30s and 40s. I think you had to have a degree and it was 4 years but much of it was on the job.

I looked into that, but couldn't afford it, not sure if its still a thing. As you say, high level training for specialist practice, but for standard practice, 90% of the business I'd imagine, the way you went has to be the way to go.

Doctors are cunts aren't they? www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-57690068They despise nurses almost as much as they do patients. Funny that it always seems to be some slippery git from the BMA called Khan or Patel demanding special treatment. I tell you what - if you're that f**k**g wonderful, piss off to America. I dare say we'll get by. It's not like there's actually a shortage of doctors. Just a closed shop.

Yep. If you're getting the same raise as everyone else. That's what makes these doctors cunts. You, on the other hand ....

Weird reaction from Baloo. I can’t tell if he’s upset that people want a pay increase, of he’s upset that people with foreign sounding names want a pay increase.

Both.
😀
It's a combination of prices telling us they're more important than nurses and the slight suspicion that these people aren't particularly interested in the job they claim is so important and are just out for everything they can get. Certainly the first point appears to support the second.

Awww! Baloo still believes that people who have a "vocation" should do it for free because they love their work and think it's important. Not that people doing important work should get compensated properly for the value they bring.

tbf they probably think the derisory pay increase for nurses is also sh!t, but its up the nurses union to take that up that one not the Dr's.
Just more of your irrational hatred of health care workers on display.

Certainly the first point appears to support the second. Where did you see them saying they thought they were more important than nurses? You have a weird dislike for the NHS (which is exacerbated by the fact it employs lots of foreigners and non-whites, both groups you loathe) but it is hard to see what is wrong with this. Are people not allowed to negotiate for more money if you don’t like their employer? 1% is nothing. Also in your rush to be outraged by Indian doctors you missed this: “ The Royal College of Nursing has already said it will consider balloting over industrial action.” So it’s not just senior doctors who have an issue with the raise.

What are doctors paid in, say, France which has many, many more of them per head of population?

So what if “everybody” is getting a low increase - why should this group not be able to agitate for more just because somebody else may be happy with a low increase.

The doctors believe that they are worth four times the increase that the nurses are getting despite having far larger salaries and disposal incomes.

The problem is you’re thick and cannot read. Nowhere does it say that doctors think they’re more important than nurses and the nurses will also be balloting to decide on industrial action. So nobody is happy and they are all making a fuss. So either in your racist rush to jump on doctors you missed that, or you saw it and did not understand it or you’re just being a troll because you’re bored.
