I see The Thunderer has treated the SNP story with due respect: below and to the side of a huge picture of Raquel Welsh and her magnificent breasts, is a postage stamp picture of La Sturgeon, a tiny tit. And yet the left set such store by her. She was their great ginger hope.

I really hope it's Kate Forbes. Apparently she's a very decent, reasonable person.
"There’s a problem, though: Forbes is a Christian. Not one of those social gospel, what-pronouns-would-Jesus-have-used trendy Christians, either. No, she believes in sin and salvation, death and resurrection, Scripture and witness, ‘the almighty power, unsearchable wisdom, and infinite goodness of God’."

Maybe she'd like to let us know what any of that actually means. Whoever wrote that has let the poor woman down.

Well, at least she says what she does on the tin. Fishpants twisted and turned like a twisty-turny thing.

They love the SNP and the idea of the UK breaking up but they hate Christians too.

I think Sturgeon's single handedly destroyed the case for secular morality.

I think the religion that a particular politician follows (practicing, non-practicing or culturally) usually kept quite quiet these days, unless they stand for or represent a particular interest group.
It's a bloody minefield in Scotland though.

TBH, who people do or don't pray to, and who they do or don't sleep with, is nobody else's business.*
*consenting adults, natch.

Yes but...
... if who you pray to (or I suppose, but it's less likely, who you sleep with) changes the way you interact with others, then it does matter.
If, for example, you're a god-bothering politician and you make policy that's bigoted and crappy because you think the person you pray to wants you to be bigoted and crappy, then it becomes the business of the voters.
Or if you're the US President and you're having a clandestine affair with a hot blonde Russian agent then who you're sleeping with does become a matter for the public.

Anyway, the problem with the SNP is the Nationalist bit. Never trust a nationalist of any nation.

Secular hypocrisy is the same as religious hypocrisy.

If you think your god has instructed you to have all the straight white men killed, I think it's relevant for the public to know.

Muslim politicians are usually pretty open about their religion and seem to have no problem using it in pursuit of votes.

If you think your god has instructed you to have all the straight white men killed, I think it's relevant for the public to know. Nope. I think that's a false premise. It assumes that no secular person ever made that kind of decision, in the belief that it was consistent with their doctrine.
