get used to it, once you see the light you'll end up agreeing with everything I say, its inevitable once you accept I'm never wrong....

Great Wales performance against South Africa.
One point in it, and Wales were just soooo close.

World cup's been a bit of a shame so far. Just a bit blah. Bad time of day here and not great games. The close games have been boring and the minnows thrashed. Although Ire v Aus was good. Just hoping it all kicks off now we're at knock out.

Its the problem with the world cup. Largely the pool matches are irrelevant, an opportunity for the big teams to kick a few little teams.

It's the same with most sports including football.
Even the early rounds of tennis contain unseeded no hopers brought in as sparring partners for the big names to warm up against.
Most people don't start paying attention till the later stages (unless there's a major upset and a minor player knocks out a major star)

But in tennis, sometimes the no-hoper wins. In football, quite often there are draws or upsets in the group stages, even if the bigger teams generally get past the first round.
In rugger, the four big southern hemisphere teams and the four big northern hemisphere ones almost inevitably get through. There's been one marginally surprising result all tournament, out of about 40 games. It goes on even longer than the ODI cricket world cup, with even fewer interesting games.

The Georgians put up a good show against Romania this morning. Looked scrappy sometimes, but never eased off. The pressure helped them score 25 against Romania who were reeling throughout. Romania are not supposed to be such a push over.
At the post match handshake the Georgians looked like giants, in comparison to Romania.
It will never get old that they play in white, under the Flag of St George.

I was in the crowd for that match. Very tempted to go to watch the crunch match against Argentina tomorrow.
Incidentally, what is this ball switching nonsense the Englishers are trying? Seems that Steyne of South Africall. has no problem lobbing them over from 70 metres. Even mediocre kickers seem to have little trouble with the ball. The Georgian kicker seemed to have the hang of it. Could it just be that Wilkinson is a bit past his best?

I think England are trying to get their entire coaching staff banned, because it's the only chance they have of playing well.

Anyway, I turned on the TV this morning and actually saw 10 minutes of interesting rugby at the end of the Tonga - France match. At last. Only 7 months into the tournament, and we actually had something worth watching.

Wow. ITV have managed to make the England team even more detestable. And now we have that f**k**g idiotic anthem. I was close to turning turncoat until I saw the sweaties in the stands with their moronic saltire painted on their faces.

England really looking like a second rate team here. 66 minutes gone and 9-12 with Scotland looking dangerous.

Well, a surprise scoreline. Scotland played well enough that they deserved to go through. Apart from the result, of course.
