I am thinking of inviting the folks from the MSN Entertainment group to join us, rather than having yet another separate forum to hop around to.
They have boards for TV, Music, Films and Celebrities
I was thinking of starting with adding a board for TV and a board for Music to this Chit Chat area - and calling the area Entertainment, to make them feel more at home.
What are people's views on this?

Brilliant!! Open up another bit for them car folks too, and get 'em in here. The added sub-forums can be hidden later if they decide to move on, but frankly, it will make this a massive group, and that will be good! They can moderate their own sections too!  |

They can moderate their own sections too! good idea! - the Entertainment folk can have their own mods on the TV and Music boards It's great that mods can be assigned to specific areas and boards |

lol yes! It doesn't stop you posting all over the place. Just gives you the ability to modify and lock threads on the boards with your name on
and newsie folks will be positively encouraged to post on the Music and TV boards too - see what a lot of music-related threads there are getting a bit lost on 'chit chat'?

Seems an excellent idea.
Very few people have interests that are limited to one area only. One site that covered a lot of interests would be sound.

Good idea foxy -especiallly if they can moderate it themselves .Perhaps a sport section as well - F1 and footie .There's going to be a lot of homeless people around soon and I bet a load will be grateful that someone else is willing to do all the work setting up a new home |

a food and drink area would be brilliant. I spend more time on the bbc food boards than on here at the mo, and i'd love to chat endlessly about food and drink on here too!

Hey Foxy, Just a thought but, won't creating all these sub-boards mean that you'll be spreading yourself a bit thin? I mean taking into consideration how slow the old MSN Chitchat, Politics and Condolences boards were...? Nothing worse than having threads with no replies. Except perhaps one sentence paragraph writers!  Seriously though, why not just have the 2 boards, Chitchat & General, giving everyone a variety of threads to meander through? Good luck |

It would be a bit mean not to have a special area for the 'Entertainment' folk. But if no one uses music and TV, we will close off that area.

Speaking entirely and selfishly for myself I much prefer it all being divided off. I find it a pain in the arse " meandering " through thread titles to find a topic that interests me on a particular day .I would think that anyone who merely wants to talk about TV and entertainment would also find it a pain having to trawl through threads trying to find an old thread they maybe added to and would like to go back to .'Course if theres nothing going on in the particular sections theres not much point to them but I dont see how theyre a bother to anyone if they have their own mods .I also dont see that the sections would be a reason to slow anything down -quite the opposite in fact .I'm no techy genius but surely its quicker opening a small section than it is a jumbled one with hundreds of threads .Bandwidth and all that
