I must be mad - I've just started on 8-10 weeks of time off work with no pay to look after my mum aged 81 and just out of hospital with a hysterectomy. Just checking for anything I can sell off on ebay!! LOL

Jules, a little tip I got from my sister, and it can pay dividends too!
She used to frequent the car boot sales, or auctions from house clearances. Always she would find a cardboard box full of tat, but she got to know the good tat from the bad. She'd buy the box and contents for pennies, take it home, sort it, clean and repair anything she could, then pop it onto E Bay. Used to make a fair bit of money (she is registered disabled) that supplemented her income to the point she had a much better quality of life. (I know she would knock out £40 - £50 per box).
Try it, you've nothing to lose except a few ££'s at worse!

Thanks sushimo - will hit the car boot trail on sunday!!!!
Having a ball off work with my mum - she is able to go about in a wheelchair as still very breathless and unable to walk distances. Getting so much done at home as well.

I had the hyster just over a year ago, and it does take it out of you for a few weeks. I wasn't 81 though, so your Mum will probably take more than the 3 months to recover. Have fun hunting, and use your head - not your heart!!
