That was always the problem with BSE - it was jumping species barriers, from cows to sheep to cats to humans. Our stupid farming practices exposed new species to the prions - or whatever - and they responded as living things do, by adapting and evolving to the new opportunity.

Balls. I'm supposed to be going to the US at the end of next month. I think I'll still go though, because I'm hard.

I fly out 29th May Mids, am getting a tad concerned, taking some kids to Florida, they have been looking forward to this for months now. It's if th FO clamps down and says we can't travel, do have it all insured, praying it covers this. £1,000's at stake!

Just heard of some bods calling off business trips to the US.
Wonder what effect this clampdown of travel will have on the economy if people, and goods, are restricted from travel?

I'm supposed to be going to a conference on the 26th Sush. That must be one of the ideal situations to spread disease. People from all over the world all gathering in one place then going back home again after a week. I wonder if they cancel it.
Minge it's not going to help is it? Imagine the effect if lots of people get ill too.

This virus is weird because it contains Swine , Bird and Human virus. Never before seen. Seems artificial to me. Perhaps our devout Islamic friends have concocted this as a biological weapon. Maybe its time to begin the round up of all the Muslims. The world may not survive with them in it , sadly. Another case in Las Vegas. And apparently it affects the brain.

No question - this pandemic is already here in the UK.
On my drive in to work this morning, I saw a pig with a bit of a runny nose. I thought "Aye aye" ...

Two people admitted to a Scottish hospital after returning from a holiday in Mexico have been confirmed as the UK's first swine flu cases. Scottish Health Minister Nicola Sturgeon said both individuals were recovering well in a Lanarkshire hospital from mild cases of the virus. It comes after the health secretary said 17 of 25 possible cases reported in the UK were being investigated. Alan Johnson told the Commons eight of the 25 cases had proved negative. news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/8020222.stm
