"It is government policy to prevent the formation of polygamous households in the United Kingdom," the spokesperson said. "Polygamous marriages that have been contracted in overseas countries are legally recognised, although immigration rules prevent a man from bringing more than one wife to settle with him in the UK. "It is not the role of government to take a position on the rites, beliefs or practices of any particular religious faith, other than where these give rise to conflict with the common law." news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7900779.stm

polyandry - it could be ok having a homely sort of handy man chef who doesn't mind staying home looking after the kids, cleaning up, seeing to the washing, gardening & all the etc's while I go out & about with a good looking, guitar playing, artistic, energetic virile guy

Well, I must admit I was hoping for a more 'rampant' response . Who said it was the norm to have a partner, as oppose to several? Are, we really being truthful here? Do we wish or lust for alternative relationships? Is that as bad as actually going for it? The thought is there, the act might not be set yet, what holds 'you' back?

It's kinda weird the response is female. Maybe, we are the 'truthfull kind'?

Rather strange to equate disinterest with dishonesty.
(I accept you phrased it as a question, but the inference is there).

But ........ If more men are unfaithful to their partners than women are. That must mean that all the unfaithful men are shagging the same woman ! She must be a real 'goer'

No, she's probably more 'single' than the man.

Aren't you confusing having or wanting more than one sexual partner, which many do, to wanting to be married to more than one person, which isn't the same thing at all?

No, she's probably more 'single' than the man. I'm sure it's a relief to all the married men on here to learn that their wives are most probably faithful .That's of course if they have time to think about their wives amongst all that extra marital sex they're busy having

Puffin, you are correct. Although, I don't think a man would put it in the same terms. Feral, I think the tables have finally turned. Personally, I think the internet has liberated women in terms of 'having a choice'. And I think men know that. Thus the zilch response.

eh? are you saying that the internet has taught women they can now also have lovers ? ( ) Just as many as all those cheating men always did ? And that because all the men know this they haven't answered this thread ? And that it isn't as hammer ( soz kubik ) said that its just that no one had any interest in it ? If I'm reading you correctly you're saying that the men are frightened to add to this thread in case they learn a few home truths. < wanders off giggling >
