news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/hampshire/7832647.stmSo can women bus drivers now refuse to drive a bus that has some kind of sexist advert on it? Fat drivers refuse to drive buses with diet products advertised on it? Drive the bus mate and ignore the adverts. *tw@t*

My view is that those groups, may they be Jews, Homosexuals, Muslims or atheists or anything, can practice their specialities within their group with minimal influence on their hosts. Once they interpret those privileges as the right to influence others, that should be unacceptable. The reaction of that bus driver should have resulted in the removing of that sign from the bus he is driving. The next thing will be to change your national anthem: "Chance save the queen"..........

Fair enough. If we're going to go down the wah wah I'm special me cultural sensitivity route (see what I did there?) then it has to be applied to all cultures.
Although I'm sure he'd change his mind if we showed him a pic of Ariane Sherine...

The man is obviously a jumped up tosser who somehow thinks hie religious beliefs are more important that his employers ability to run the company.
If they mean that much to him he will resign or kill himself in protest. I wonder if he thinks his god is such a poof that he is offended. maybe his all knowing supreme being is crying about it.
You religious types are all tossers. Keep it to youselves no one else needs to know about your fantasies of invisible super beings.
The bus sign is correct - there may not be a god. If there is, you will be proved correct.

Avi
How would you feel about being asked to drive a bus with an advert on the side promoting Hitler?
I make the point to highlight that personal feelings can affect many people. Even when some might personally agree with the sentiment of the advert, the feelings of those that don't may be important to them.
I have to say that the current campaign is a direct consequence of the domination of religion by arrogance, bigotry and dishonesty.
For too long this issue has been manipulated by a few for their own gain.
Ask many what they think of when they think of religion and the answer is often conflict, war, intolerance and hell.
Sad really.

Sad really. Why should anyone care if the advert is about Hitler? No one is asking, telling, or forcing him to change his beliefs. Would he cry if the sign said something along the lines of "there is but one god and Allah is his name"? These religious types appear to think that we have to care about their views. If he does not like it he can resign from his job. There is too much pandering to people like him. That sign does not have any impact on him at all. It is only expressing a view that he does not agree with. He must have lived a very hard life knowing that the world is full of people who do not share his views.

I agree. I would think there is way too much pandering of all religious groups in this country. Fine, if you want to express your religious beliefs but don't try and force it on to others. Religious advertising used to be banned. I think it needs to be brought back.

I don't reckon that the idiots that overpushed rights knew what they were doing. Anymore than the stupid gits who tell everyone in a company that they are a valuable part of the team. I've seen people who are best described as third assistant pointless email writers strut around like they matter to anyone. They really complain when you tell them to shut up and go click their mouse.

I agree with you.
My contention was avi's posturing and I was wondering if he would take the same approach if the advert offended his sensibilities.
Also I suggested that the reasons for this campaign lie largely at the door of the endless line of fanatics who attempt to use religion, especially Christianity, for their own ends.
The most fundimental principal in Europe and one which we should, I hope, all be continually striving for, is the freedom to live our own lives.
This is the basis of Jesus' teaching. Each of us is responsible for ourselves alone. No-one has a right to judge us.
