One of her biggest challenges is to find a Brexit deal that preserves the success of the U.K.’s giant financial services industry, which is so central to the country’s economic fortunes. Brexit is a mess, of course, and will totally screw the British economy - in fact, already is screwing the British economy. But surely one of the few benefits that could come from ruining the economy is to shift the focus away from having all of Britain's financial eggs in the London/Banking basket. At the moment it's always easier for governments to try and cut regulation more and more to invite the fairly easy investment in moving bankers into London, rather than to create policy that invites other industries into other parts of the country that will diversify Britain's economy. Perhaps totally f**k**g Britain over with Brexit is the only way to change that. If you're going to have something as utterly disruptive as this with all the financial suffering that the British public are going to go through and still not change the focus of the economy, I think you're wasting an opportunity.

The fact that so many people in the UK are still "stunned" by the result show have large the inequality problem is and how bad that nobody could conceive of the Left Behind making the statement they did. Shows how large the intelligence and racial tolerance and wisdom inequality is...

Life goes on though, eh? If the sky really was falling, they'd have hung on a bit longer wouldn't they? Nah. The people running ARM are going to take the first opportunity they can get to take the money and move it into Swiss Francs, before Britain collapses even further into its mire of small minded insularity

Can't disagree with that. It is scary to think just how dependent we appear to be on the banking sector. And the dominance of London needs to be broken too.

Yep. Both London and Finance. Brexit without trashing the dominance of London and Finance is having all the suffering while losing one of the very few benefits.

The referendum wasn't binding. We all know that. The 'out' faction told lies and misled the public. We all know that. Why then, is Madam May insisting 'Brexit's Brexit'?
There's something extremely dodgy going on in the Tory party, because this farce doesn't have to go on. Not at all.

The Left have truly never cared about the Left Behind. We see that now. The Left never cared much about the prejudices and biases of the Left Behind, and still tried to help them. The Right, meanwhile, spends all its time trying to either trash or exploit the Left Behind, but appeals to their lowest prejudices to get their votes. It's the same reason that the poorest states in the US that gain the most from federal government spending, vote most strongly for the Republicans, because the right appeal to their prejudices on god and guns and abortion and all that sort of crap, despite actually creating policy that takes money from the poorest and uses it to cut capital gains tax.

Almost political suicide for any MP. Plus as the Tories kept insisting it would be binding, it was a manifesto pledge, would be odd for them to go back on that now.

Nope the Left have never cared about the Left Behind. It's why instead of doing something tangible to do something to assist those in areas of high unemployment and financial devastation, they just dismissed every concern as racist and ignored them.

So creating racist policy is a way of helping the "Left Behind"? Ha!

So creating racist policy is a way of helping the "Left Behind"? Ha! The Left Behind haven't created a racist policy. Nor have they asked for one.

Yet you're saying that the Left aren't helping the Left Behind because they're not pandering to the racism of the Left Behind. You're making no sense here. You seem to be arguing that pandering to racism is a way of helping, and the Left aren't pandering.

Incidentally, Hermann Hauser tweeted the following on June 24th and 25th: "Brexit: Britain's worst own goal in history." and "An innumerate clown has wrecked a country."

My parents got their pension today and have had an effective 20% pay cut, they lost about weeks worth of pay. I'm sure many many other pensioners worldwide will also be feeling the effects of the stupidity inflicted upon us by the innumerate lying clown

You know, I thought the remainers would get over their shock that most people have different opinions to them but I actually think they might have suffered some sort of permanent mental breakdown.

That should have been top of the list.
