I'm imagining Cliff from Cheers leading a flotilla of kayaks.

Actually, there's a sort of interesting answer to that if you're a sad nerd.
Regular fraud is a state crime in the US.
So if the Feds want to get you on fraud they need to find a way to define it as happening across state lines. Which means it's either mail fraud or wire fraud. If someone was sent a cheque in the mail across state lines it can become mail fraud (wire fraud used to be telegraph but now is basically internet fraud).
And because mail fraud is a big deal, the posties have their own police. US Postal Police have about 2500 employees.

Didn't even know the posties could arrest anyone. Must be a bit like being arrested by the school crossing guard.

It is actually a bit interesting. Do they have full powers of arrest or is it some weak citizens arrest type thing? Although thinking about it. I'm sure I've read that in Britain, plod doesn't have more powers of arrest than a citizen. could be wrong about that.

I'm pretty sure they're fully kitted out police, and probably have more power than normal police because their jurisdiction is nationwide rather than just city or state.

So, Trump's adviser gets locked up for fraud on Trumpy wall nonsense
The Senate Republicans agree that the Trump campaign colluded in Russian election meddling and kept lying and kept spreading Russian misinformation
And today the courts threw out Trump's claim that the NY grand jury can't see his tax returns and financial records.
Not a great couple of days for him, particularly as the Democrats aren't f**k**g up their convention as badly as they normally do.

So "Mexico is going to pay for the wall" --> "We're going to scam the taxpayers to get rich."
Very on brand for Mr. Drain-the-Swamp.

The yacht Bannon was arrested on is owned by Guo Wengui, who has a membership at Mar a Lago and is on China's most-wanted list, accused of bribery, fraud, money laundering, and sexual assault.
Sounds like a perfect candidate for a Trump cabinet position. Bannon is still on the guest list to speak at the RNC.

Saw an excellent funny on Facebook earlier:
If Trump really wanted Hillary to be locked up he should have given her a job.

Better Than Expected! U.S. Economy Added 1.37 Million Jobs in August, Unemployment Fell to 8.4%The economy has added around 10.5 million jobs in the past four months. The increase in the ranks of employed workers shows that companies ramped up hiring as the economy reopened and consumers came back to stores, restaurants, and other businesses that had been shuttered in March and April. Despite the gains, total employment in August was lower than its February level, highlighting just how deep the pandemic cut into what had been the strongest jobs markets in decades. More people came into the workforce and found jobs in August. The unemployment rate declined by 1.8 percentage points to 8.4 percent, and the number of unemployed persons fell by 2.8 million to 13.6 million. Both measures have declined for 4 straight months but are higher than in February, prior to the pandemic. The fall in unemployment was widespread among the major worker groups. The unemployment rates declined in August for adult men (8.0 percent), adult women (8.4 percent), teenagers (16.1 percent), Whites (7.3 percent), Blacks (13.0 percent), and Hispanics (10.5 percent). The jobless rate for Asians (10.7 percent) changed little over the month. www.breitbart.com/economy/2020/09/04/the-u-s-economy-added-1-4-million-jobs-in-august-unemployment-fell-to-8-4/and while jobs are outlawed in many states
