This is not yet Watergate-level badness for Trump. But it's getting close to Iran-Contra level badness, or Profumo-level. I wonder if we will get to a level where he can’t see out his term.

I still think it's pretty unlikely. Betting markets have him at 50% to not finish his term, but that feels very high to me now. It would require congress to impeach him, I think, and that would require a majority in Congress. And the Republicans are very unlikely to lose the Senate in 2018, and probably won't lose the House either. They want tax cuts, tax cuts, tax cuts, and bad dogmatic judges, and their best hope is for Trump to serve out his term. Only if Trump is really dragging them down will they try and cut him loose. At the moment, despite his corruption, links to Russia, ineptitude and racism, Trump is more popular than the Republicans in Congress so if they attack Trump they will probably make themselves less electable.

true enough, the GOP is no longer a party of principles, people often forget it was the the Republicans in Congress who impeached and brought down Nixon, there is zero chance of this present bunch emulating that, no matter how far the corruption goes or how much evidence of collusion with a hostile foreign power comes to light.

....so the daily unprecedented “kill Trump” drumbeat over the last two years from the MSM has not been “desperate”....?? Interesting.

So you agree that your bonkers conspiracy nonsense from World Net Daily is desperate? Good.
I think the mainstream media has been remarkably soft and pliant with Trump. They gave him billions of dollars of free airtime during his campaign. They play every story as a "both sides" story even when one side is racist tantrum throwing by a 2 year old. They have been talking about a "pivot" to "conventional governing" ever since he came to office to try and have a "fair" narrative. They've thrown him so many bones that it's unreal.

It would be easier to not have negative coverage on Trump if
- he didn't behave like a racist 2 year old,
- who largely only communicates via Twitter,
- whose policies - as much as he has any - are mostly about stripping healthcare from poor people and making rich people pay less tax,
- whose appointees are either financially corrupt or in the pocket of the Russians despite his claim to "drain the swamp",
- with people like Manafort who has laundered $75m,
- or Price who used insider dealing on health stocks before taking the job and then took millions of dollars in private flights (despite spending years complaining about waste of government funds)
- or Zinke, who's also been using private jets, but also who is from the town of Whitefish, and whose son worked for Whitefish energy - a company with 2 employees who somehow won a $350m contract to rebuild the Puerto Rico power grid.
- or Flynn, who - well, more will come out about Flynn
- And whose other not-yet-shown-to-be-corrupt appointees are stupendously inept, like Ben Carson, who said he wasn't qualified; or Rick Perry, who didn't even know what his department did; or Sean Spicer, who had to hide in the shruberry because he was too embarrassed.
If Trump were able to behave like a non-racist adult, and appoint competent, non-corrupt people, I imagine he'd be on the end of less negative press.

well there is that, but the issue you have with the likes of UJ is they live in a bubble where that stuff is never reported on, there was this thing on the news last night having a bit of a laugh contrasting yesterday morning news, every station was leading on the Manafort collusion and corruption charge and Popodopolous guilty plea, well all apart from Fox who were reporting on the 'controversy' of the new Google cheese burger emoji that had the cheese under the burger.

hahaha...so media bias then...my bubble is here in a large London office and we don t see or hear any news at all from the outside World ,we all just rely on FA and Voice and of course the totally unbiased El Beeb to spoon feed us pearls of wisdom.... do you think that people outside of your Libtard World really care about shysters like Manafort or Zinke?

I don't think anyone cares about Zinke's corruption, no. Manafort's different, because he was utterly compromised by the Russians and running the Republican nominee's campaign for President while susceptible to a full range of blackmail from the US's number one geopolitical opponent.
They should care about Zinke opening up publicly protected lands to oil drilling. But not much about his corruption.
The thing about Zinke's corruption, though, is that it sits alongside all the other disastrous, inept or corrupt appointees. From someone who claimed he was going to "drain the swamp". It's indicative of either Trump being exceptionally useless, or actually encouraging corruption.
And that's the thing - it's hard to find anything positive to write about Trump. It's basically all terrible.

well if you see reporting the truth of whats happening and not just spinning everything to conform with the far right ideology of this current administration, as bias then I suppose the actual media would appear that way to those like you in that bubble where truth and facts are somewhat 'alternative'.
I think you will find a lot of people think defrauding the tax payer, laundering million of $ and colluding with a foreign power against the interests of your nation is something to care about, you might not like it and would prefer they look at the nice fluffy squirrel instead, but get used to it snowflake, more will be coming of that I have no doubt. Also I can't see Trump suddenly becoming competent or effective or achieving anything, so get used to him being called on being incompetent and achieving nothing.

ever noticed what a terrible mess the economy is getting in? What 3% growth? not like the wonderful 2% Obama caused on a good year, Stock market in record growth, unemployment lowest it has been in 10 years, the Dems are scared to death this will continue

You're going to claim 8 years of falling unemployment under Obama as a triumph for Trump?

..still ,I m glad you both agree with Harvard’s assessment about the media bias. If any of these guys are guilty of anything then the courts will prosecute accordingly.... like they did under Barry and Bill ..no biggy
