The whole thing didn't go to plan from day one, there was no plan, because the government thought the majority would be remain, Cameron leaves, May leaves, and now bonkers Boris thinks he knows the answer, but nope.

True.
As long as Cameron's rather naive question was open to so much interpretation by the Leave camp, we were always going to end up here or hereabouts.
'tis true what they say: ask 10 Brexiteers what they want from Brexit, and you'll get 11 different answers.

Have we got Germany's economic data yet?

Hardly a broad indicator, that.

Agreed. Perhaps more an inconvenient truth for some, but a truth for a' that.

Nope, you've still not grasped it. My comment on morality was entirely about denying the country the election it sorely needs. ... and you've still not grasped (= wilfully chosen to ignore) that the country needs an election only because BJ has chosen to lose his friends - and then complain that he's got no friends. Still "all going to plan", as you've spouted many times? Plan? There's a LARF! The wheres and whys don't really matter. An election is sorely need and the sooner the better.

As it happens, I agree, but politics is politics and, more importantly, democracy is as democracy does. There is a word to describe the way that I feel right now; that's it - schadenfreude.

I don't know why you feel like that although I understand that you do. Kind of obvious by the way you only turn up on this thread regularly when you've been told that your lot are winning.

... and that, in a nutshell, explains the deeper malaise of the whole country - this whole concept of "winning" and "losing".
This isn't The Ashes (though it soon might be) or the World Cup - this is real world economics and the way they're going to affect real human beings. The whole concept of winning and losing will be rendered pretty much academic if and when the majority of people start to feel some kind of pain.

Nah, you're contradicting yourself here. One minute you're all (premature, I'd say) schadenfrEUde; the next, "it's not about winning or losing!". I'm no German... but I'd say schadenfrEUde definitely has an element of victory.

What have you ordered? A load of porky pies? In English 'traiteurs' means caterers.

I'm no German... but I'd say schadenfrEUde definitely has an element of victory. Nope. I'd say schadenfreude has a huge dollop of "You haven't thought this out properly, have you?" about it. People (BJ, Gove, Farage, Raab, you et al) were all too keen to jump on the bandwagon of "it'll be the easiest trade deal to do" blah blah blah, believing so fervently in yer own (now evidence-based) Empire-hankering bullshit that you're now all caught like a rabbit in the headlights as things unravel. As I and others have pointed out, the superior argument knows it is superior by dint of the fact that the inferior argument is now casting around for others to blame ("It's SO unfair and all THEIR fault!"), at the same time having to fall back on outdated WWII comparisons if not out-and-out insults as a poor substitute for cogent debate.

Aka, I told you so; aka, I'm right and you're wrong! Haha! I really don't think "schadenfrEUde" is a pedagogical concept. Anyway, we're leaving the EU. Good.

Interesting. You didn't take issue with my point about things unravelling.
Thanks.
