"Survival sex is a form of prostitution engaged in by a person because of their extreme need. It describes the practice of people who are homeless or otherwise disadvantaged in society, trading sex for food, a place to sleep, or other basic needs, or for drugs."
in other words,,,prostitution. or did the woke deem the word prostitution unwoke.

No, not, in other words “prostitution”. Despite the words being there in front of you you still struggle to consistently understand them. Not all sex workers (or “prostitutes” as you disparagingly refer to them) are engaging in sex out of extreme need or for basic survival. Why are you so stupid? I know you being stupid means you probably cannot answer that question but I am still curious.

Prostitutes is an acceptable word. It's not disparaging. It's one of many words which describe that activity.

This is amazing. 'World-first' heart-thymus transplant success for Easton US doctors say a young boy called Easton has made medical history by becoming the first person in the world to receive a combined heart and thymus transplant. The pioneering procedure was done to save his life, but could also revolutionise the field of organ transplantation, they hope. The donated thymus tissue should help stop his body rejecting the new heart. Months on from the surgery, tests reveal Easton is progressing well. The thymus tissue is working, meaning his body is building critical immune cells which might ultimately reduce or even eliminate the need for him to take lifelong anti-rejection drugs. www.bbc.com/news/health-60648869

odd then Duke Health is massively reliant on tax payers to help fund its research
Duke’s Federal Support By Agency Top Federal Sponsors at Duke in FY19
FY19 Federal Support National Institutes of Health (NIH) $480,000,000 Department of Defense (DOD) $64,400,000 National Science Foundation (NSF) $35,400,000 Department of Energy (DOE) $15,400,000 Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) $5,556,000 Agency for International Development (USAID) $3,864,000 Department of Homeland Security (DHS) $3,555,000 National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) $3,269,000
Though its money well spent, government support of health care and research is behind most every major medical advance these days.

Thalidomide also showed us what can happen with non-government healthcare.
As did Bristol-Myers Squibb/Abilify, Merck/Vioxx (oh, and it’s MMR vaccine), Mylan and their EpiPen, Pfizer/Celebrex, and Questcor/Acthar, to say nothing of Rochester Drug Cooperatives and their part in getting whole swathes of the US “market” hooked on opioids.
Perish the thought, too, that we forget recently-convicted entrepreneur Elizabeth Holmes and her company Theranos’s faux blood-test fraud, costing users, investors and US healthcare billions. Yep, private enterprise at its very best.
I have a broom here and a piece of carpet for you to use, though the underside of the latter may not be big enough to hide all these manifest successes of the free market.

The pig heart transplant guy just died, got 2 months more life. Though really its not just about this single patient, but about the research, proof of concept and I'm sure they will have learned an awful lot about Xenotransplantation that will eventually lead to this being a very real option in the future. www.bbc.com/news/health-60681493

Newly released survey data shows VA leads in patient experience WASHINGTON — "Department of Veterans Affairs hospitals outperform community hospitals, on 10 of 11 metrics, in Medicare’s latest Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems patient survey report." "The Jan. 26 report found 54% of VA medical centers received 4 or 5 HCAHPS Stars for the Patient Survey Rating compared to 35% of community hospitals." www.va.gov/opa/pressrel/pressrelease.cfm?id=5773and va nursing homes (clc's) out perform community nursing homes. yet the media keeps slamming va medical care every chance it gets. very odd.

So you’re saying publicly funded and provided healthcare run through taxation is better.

i've experienced both and find the military hospital care better than than non-va. whether the community care could function like the va is debatable. for example, specialty care for disabled at a va hospital is light years ahead of community hospitals.

More amazing stuff. www.bbc.com/news/health-62240061?fbclid=IwAR1Ie41z4qc4F3_QrxbWftADVnZe4WynTUaC1ZuBZiOeC_qv4Ckxj63PKDsA "transformational" therapy has effectively cured people with the bleeding disorder haemophilia B, say British doctors. The treatment corrects a genetic defect that leaves people's blood struggling to clot and stop bleeding. Elliott Mason, who was part of the trial which tested the therapy, says his life now feels "completely normal". The experts say advances like this could revolutionise the lives of adults with haemophilia in the next few years. Though no doubt there will still be the usual chumps spreading lies about genetic treatments such as this.

Several of my relatives who had coronary bypass surgery subsequently developed cancer a year or so later, all died. Is there a correlation between heart operations and an increased cancer risk?

Not that I've ever heard, can't see how that would even work given how there is nothing really to link them.
Probably a coincidence.

That being said cancer survivors who've had chest radiation are at far higher risk of death if they later requite open heart surgery.
