precisely (edit. to Fandy), and even if they did have a dress code for women entering their store it should be displayed for everyone to laugh at see. Its not as if she was half naked or anything.
Also to Baloo, what is indecent about wearing a t-shirt and shorts, they are not even that figure hugging or short tbf?

Did the shop have a rule about shorts length? It sounds like it didn't. The trigger for the problem was another customer having a whine about her legs. Did it have a rule about not spitting on the floor? Shopping naked? Wiping your arse on the asparagus?

well if its something as stupid as not being able to wear shorts and a T you probably would need a sign, as its clearly a stupid requirement.

I'm not the one saying this woman should be covered up to please the sensibility of idiots, you're obviously the one with a problem, all you've done is comment of how she looks rather than the fact she's just wearing a t-shirt and shorts and the bloke who moaned should have told to get a life.

Well they clearly did as the woman was spoken to about transgressing them.

Neither am I. She's inappropriately dressed. Common decency. Common sense. Let me know if you need help with those concepts as they're unlikely to figure in any leftist's vocabulary.

Mids' rules for avoiding classlessness via clothing:
Men: the only acceptable public spaces for not wearing a shirt are the pool, the beach*, a city park*, the countryside- even this is debatable and will require some nous to get it right. It's fine on a deserted or sparsely populated footpath but if it's busy, put a shirt on. Shorts legs need some length. Small running short length shorts are a no no unless you're running (even then they're a wee bit suspect).
Women: very similar to the above. Topless is fine where beaches allow it. Other open spaces can be okay if you're discreet. The basic rule is cover up when you get up to go anywhere. This includes covering up swimwear.
If you go into any sort of public building, cover it up.
The exceptions to most of these rules are for young persons at rave/party type events.
*shirt on in the queue for the ice cream van. In fact put your shirt on when you get up to go anywhere.

I think Sheldon Cooper's at CalTech, not at UC.
Also, Jethro Bodine might be intelligent and just not have had the opportunity for elite education that boosts test scores.
Also, the UC system is massively over-subsribed and already basically has the pick of the best students. It's not going to be letting morons in.
