Turn on a sixpence, bulls, especially the smaller breeds like these Spanish ones. That might be true. I was quoting a farmer client of my old man who bred Charolais beef cattle. Big buggers, like a tank with horns.

deer can jump really high, amazing to see em running in the back country here.
saw a bear running the other day, very quietly and very fast, good job it was running away from our group, no way could have out run it. Though we have a standing joke, 'you don't need to out run the bear, you just need to out run your mates'

We saw a European jackal today. It ran along the road in front of us as we drove down a steep mountain road. what was Orban doing in France?

I read an account that illustrated the ridiculous strength of bears. Two mountaineers were slogging their way up a steep boulder field. They were very experienced and very fit but they were really struggling. A movement caught their eyes and they looked to the side to see a brown bear sprinting up the same boulder field with a deer in it's jaws.

one flattened one of our apple trees a few years back, we'd left a few at the top as we couldn't reach them, looked like it just pushed the tree over to get them.

I read a Raj story about a bullterrier that was grabbed by a panther which ran off with it in his mouth. They all thought they'd seen the last of it, but the dog came back a day later with a chunk out of its neck. Anyone ever seen a mad bullterrier? That panther must have thought 'f**k - what have I got hold of here?'

Nasty. Poor lad.
Helicopters are awful bloody things. You have to wonder how the pilot all this to happen. He is responsible for his passengers' safety and allowing them to walk around the aircraft with the engine running is just crazy.

Yeah, it's hard to know if it's stupidity or poor safety standards.

Probably a bit of both, but I must caution you not to hop on a Greek chopper while you're there.

Hahaha. The roads are bad enough. Actually, they're OK. Drivers aren't too bad either.

Looks like the EU is claiming he was taking a selfie. Shades of Stade de France? Still, it's not the first time someone's had their head cut off in a photo.

Yeah, blaming matey isn't good enough. Pretty much the main job of the pilot on the ground to be aware of people on the ground.

"No - he was taller."

“Before they boarded their private jet” says the Mail. Which suggests the kind of wealth and entitlement in a 21 year old who’d probably not listen to a word said by the pilot.

A fenestron is what's needed. I wouldn't get a moment's peace if I operated a helicopter with an open tail rotor. Not that I could fly a helicopter, or would want to.

Helicopters are terrifying. I had a conversation with a friend of a friend who was a helicopter pilot who was explaining to be how you could have a controlled glide to the ground after a power failure, but it sounded like the speeds of descent he was talking about were the kinds of speeds that would kill you anway.

Yeah, autorotation sounds horrible and it's only an option in pretty specific emergency conditions.
