I thought Back to the Future was at least PG though.

Never fallen asleep during a gig, but think I did at the cinema once.
It was the final Harry Potter film, and since I've no recollection of it, prob dozed off through most of it and embarrassed my daughter by snoring.

I feel asleep during a couple of jazz gigs back when I thought I liked cool, quiet, thoughtful jazz and went to late night gigs after too many beers because I thought that was what all the cool jazz hepcats did.

Hey. I was an idiotic late-teen early-20s kid who knew nothing and went to all kinds of gigs and thought I was into the whole scene of those gigs. I went to Buzzcock gigs and came out bruised from the moshpit. I went to Hawkwind gigs and came out stoned. I went to Joe Satriani gigs and just came out bored. I went to Inspiral Carpets gigs and looked like an idiot. I went to folky singer songwriter gigs and heard terrible versions of Cat Stevens songs that I thought were originals while wearing bad sheepskin leather jackets. I went blues gigs and tried to look all serious and sincere.
I went to a load of jazz gigs, some of which were good, some of which were probably good but I didn't understand them, some of which were thoroughly soporific.

Why would you look like an idiot for going to an Inspiral Carpets gig?
Never saw them back in the day, but they're still touring. Playing in Manchester in April. Sold out already, but I've a friend who has tickets so she might invite me.

You were obviously not in Manchester when these were THE thing to wear in 1989 or 1990 (original link had a rude word that News General broke)

I'm pretty sure I saw the Inspiral Carpets back in the day. Good band.

You were obviously not in Manchester when these were THE thing to wear in 1989 or 1990 I was. Lived there until 1990 then joined the RAF. Never had one of those shirts though. More into Global Hypercolor back then (just as sad!)

I hope those shirts weren't worn in public.

You wouldn't dare wear stuff like that in any inner city area worth its salt, where you'd get beaten up just for looking in the wrong direction.

I had no idea that HH was so young.

You’d totally wear those in inner city Manchester in 1990. Or other, equally ridiculous, baggies.

Saw a YouTube clip once where a MRI was being decommissioned, they turned it on outside sounded by loads of scrap metal, fcuk that thing was amazing and pulled some real heavy stuff very easily.

Why can't these people control themselves?

We probably need to think about putting in stalls for some venues.
