Well, at what point does an accident become negligence? Leaving your blind person next to a cliff isn't an accident, is it?

Beachy Head and 15cms of bathwater aren't really comparable though. She'd probably done it dozens of times. Unfortunate. Stupid even. But 22 months in Hell?

Yeah terrible accidents happen, you take your eyes off the little buggers for a second and they can be in all kinds of stuff. I mean how many have killed by pulling TV's and furniture on top of them. Most of us get lucky and catch them so avoid her fate.

Leaving a baby alone in a bath seems like negligence. Why the fcuk couldn't she have used her phone in the bathroom.

It was in a baby bath chair, supposedly safe. You know, a bit like a baby chair in a car. If that's as dangerous as sitting on the edge of Beachy Head my judgement's clearly out of sync (FFS).

I remember my mum left my wee brother in a baby chair on the kitchen counter. It was a plastic seat and back but it had sort of very thick wire frame. Quite flexible. Springy even. Anyway, he managed to bounce/slide it along far enough to topple off the edge and on to the kitchen floor. My horrified mum picked him up and ran all the way to the GP. No damage done but it does seem like an unwise placement of a baby.

I'm always amazed at how some parents leave kids alone with dogs.

I once saw someone put the baby in one of those baby carry car seat things on the roof of the car whilst they opened the door and fannied about, and then drive off with it still on the roof. Down near Antibes.

That's mental. I wonder why the garage people didn't say something? Maybe they didn't notice.

Most are unaware of the volatility of petrol. Barbecues and petrol keep A&E well occupied in summer.

Some old bag used to do that to me when I was filling jerry cans with diesel. "You can't use those, they're not approved!" Silly cow, they were MoD cans. I just used to keep doing it but parked the van so she shouldn't see me. She knew though and used to glower at me as I paid for far more fuel than the van could possible use.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's illegal to buy or sell petrol in a non-approved container. I've never filled a jerry can at a garage before. That's not very manly. I must add it my list of things I have to do in order to be properly manly, along with chopping down a tree.

Can I add I have not one, but two chain saws an a number of high quality Swiss axes and have chopped down quite a few trees over the years, some rather large, yes that's how manly I am...
