"A newborn baby found earlier this year in Newham, east London, is the third child abandoned by the same parents, the BBC can report. DNA tests presented to the East London Family Court established that “Baby Elsa” is the sibling of two babies, a boy and a girl, found in very similar circumstances in 2017 and 2019. Despite appeals by the Metropolitan Police, their parents have not been identified. The BBC and PA Media were given special permission by the court to report the sibling link - and that the children are black. Judge Carol Atkinson said the story was of "great public interest" as babies are very rarely abandoned in modern Britain." www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c5115e7k2enoYeah, they usually just wait until the dowry becomes an issue, before setting fire to their daughters.

Who is “they”? What “dowry”? What “setting of fire to daughters?” Looking at this given all three children share parents it is looking greatly like a concealed pregnancy. Three times over makes me worried for the mother. As she would be very aware that contraception / abortion exists so there must be a reason why she can access neither. Wonder if the dad is a partner or an abuser.

I don't share your confidence in the awareness of contraception methods amongst many of our new Brits. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/shunned-beaten-burnt-raped-the-dowry-violence-that-shames-britain-9803009.html

We should send the babies back. That sounds very painful if not scientifically impossible.

Where have you read these are “new Brits” whatever that means? What cultural norms? Where have you read that the parents are not British and therefore not culturally British? Why would she not be aware of contraception and choose not to use it? Sex education is fairly widespread in British schools. This is weird even by your usual standards. You seem to think that never in the history of Britain has a desperate mother abandoned her baby(ies). And if you are basing this on actual knowledge of who the parents are you should notifying the police.

Possibly everything. Try reading it again and putting the components together.

Possibly everything. Try reading it again and putting the components together. No I am not engaging in make believe. Where is your actual evidence that anything you have mentioned has anything to do with this story?

Why do you need evidence? Are you not familiar with conditional terms? We know you don't know what an adjective is.

I see Khan's khops are khilling khows now. Probably in order to goad London's Hindus. "Fury is growing at London police officers who brutally rammed an escape calf using their car with James Cleverly blasting the 'unnecessarily heavy handed' cops. The appalling clip shows the car smashing into the animal after it escaped from its enclosure and ran through the streets of Staines-upon-Thames, west London last night. After being knocked to the ground, the bovine struggles to get back to its feet before the same car races forward and rams into it again." www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13533887/James-Cleverly-police-ramming-cow-car.html

Small world etc.: that heifer belongs to Kate and Rob, who are the sister and BiL of Mrs. B's oldest girlfriend.
When I saw the story, it crossed my mind that it might be theirs, as their aren't that many livestock farmers in that neck of the woods.
They're being a bit cagey about it, I reckon. The primary responsibility for the health and security of livestock lies with the farmer.

Ha! There's a turn up. I don't see why they couldn't just follow it at a distance then then nab it after it had calmed down.

Yeah, I'm a townie really, but I reckon I could have sorted that out. I have often had to herd escaped livestock around here. The worst thing you can possibly do is frighten or hurt them.

Same here although I'm semi-rural now. There are heifers round here kept in public spaces and they're completely harmless. You wouldn't want one on a busy road of course but I'm sure they could have blocked it from that.

One or two farms around here have little plaques on the gates and styles to say who the farmer is, and giving their mobile number in case the beasts get out. Seems sensible.
