Mrs. Baloo forced me to try No Offence again the other night. It was utter, utter shite: the usual collection of public sector, mixed-race, disabled, downesy, gay characters in a sort of right-on everyman production where all men are bunglers or beasts and it needs a savvy twenty stone bird with dubious personal habits to save the day. It was like Tracy Beaker for older idiots. It's funny: it seems like they've found a magic formula that they know will keep churning out gumbo that people will keep watching. The problem is that, while Mrs. Baloo is far from being stupid, a number of her extended group of friends are. What they're talking about on Facebook is NOT a good guide to what we might enjoy. What, like Casualty or Holby City you mean? Agreed - programmes like that annoy the p*ss out of me too.

Yeah,it's on that grim continuum. Tedious.
Netflix is a great thing though. We've enjoyed loads of clever, refreshing, foreign language series and more than a few violent American box sets.

Adding it to my watch list. As Mids said, that's all you need to know. Ditto

I really enjoyed the bleak apocalyptic first half of Interstellar. The second half with a bit overblown and silly, even by Christopher Nolan's standards.

I rather felt Interstellar disappeared up its own arse somewhat, not to say there were not some good concepts and ideas, but can't help feeling the overall thing was lacking.

Loved the music score of Interstellar. It really fit the movie. Loved the tidal wave scene, too. A waterworld ocean only knee deep.

1961s "The Hustler" starring Paul Newman, Jackie Gleason, and George C. Scott. Excellent.

Ridley Scott's "Kingdom of Heaven".
Typical Scott, playing fast and loose with the actual history, but a good yarn for a' that.

Now watching 2017s "Murder on the Orient Express" Entertaining and great scenery, but I like the 1974 version better.

I got about 10 minutes into that before the terrible gurning borderline-racist silly accents, particularly from the scenery-chewing Kenneth Branagh, became too grating and forced me to change to something less offensive on the flight I was on.

Oh. Fleabag.
Don't really know what to say about it. Middle-class tosser scriptwriter/BBC trying to be naughty? Drawing on all the old cliches. Quite good comedy acting though, let down by non-existent plot. Plenty of fake schoolboy humping scenes with anal sex references. Yep, failed attempt at BBC emancipation.

Who, the screenwriter? In that case I'll add that the screenwriter's clearly patronising the audience.

I think you'll find she's rather upper class TBH. f**k me. Just read her wiki. In which case she's stealing middle-class ideas and hogging the show!!! That'll teach me for not paying attention.
