That's pretty much what "go back to where you came from" means. "If you don't like it here go back to where you came from" is explicitly telling people that they really don't qualify to participate in the democratic process and shouldn't work to change the country. They should be grateful for what the country is right now, and shut up. That's what it's saying. It's saying: Don't criticise; don't run for office; don't get elected; don't try and change things. It is, basically, saying that your rights as a citizen are redundant. At no point is anyone's race mentioned, it's criticism, (and obtuse criticism) of their politics, go back try and fix that THEN COME BACK, and tell us how to do it is what is written, how you interpret that is a function of your bias! if we are playing the interpretation game then I interpret that as go take a look what your family left to make a better life here, come back and realise how good it is here then quit trashing America! Now address the identity politics racism spouted by the race card players who think being non white makes them immune from criticism even in their own party! Oh piss off with this nonsense Rev. They are Americans - they have no other countries to go to! He also never tells white Americans whose issues he has with their politics to go back to their countries. Only the brown whites. And you are going to pretend that race has nothing to do with it. Is it due to you being a moron or you sharing his views that non white Americans aren’t Americans? When Trump was criticising the political situation in the US saying he wanted to make America better did you think he should leave to where his family cane from? This is pure unadulterated racism in your part. These women are Americans, one of them has lineage in the United States that precede Trump and his family. When white people can criricise the US system freely yet non-whites are told they should "go back to their country" thus revoking their citizenship/ their nationhood, that's racism. And that's what you're espousing right now. And yes I’m not going to use euphemisms. I am calling your rhetoric straight up racist because that’s what it is. Brown and black Americans are no less American than the white ones. Either none of them have somewhere to “go back” to or they all do.

Yeah. "Progressive “ used to be a euphemism for lying about economic policy, claiming you can both slash taxes and increase spending. It was lowest common denominator bullshit economic politics. The idea was that thick people bought it and voted on it. Now it's shifted to basically meaning "racism and incredibly heavy-handed law and order stuff". Still pitching to the thick and lowest common denominator, but it's moved from lying about economic policy to basically just beating up people who don't look like the majority. There you go .....I fixed it for you. That actually makes no sense. None of it.

The irony is of cause is the one playing identity politics is Trump, 'they don't look like me so they can't be from here, go home' Show us the quote where he mentioned race or skin color when he said they can go back to where they came from. The Four hate and loathe the U.S. with a passion. So, yeah, they can get the hell out if they hate this country so much. Would you want to live in a country you hate? There are plenty of other countries. I hear Somalia is a real nirvana. So because he didn’t mention race, telling 4 non white Americans to go back to where they come from is not racist? Even though at least 3 are born bred Americans and so are exactly where they come from? Even though he expressly used that language because they are not white? How many times does he tell white Americans to go back to where they come from? Why did he not go back to where he came from when he was campaigning on a ticket criticising what America was? Why is it only non whites who are assumed to have come from somewhere else?

1) He didn’t say “love it or leave” he said “go back”. Words have meanings.
2) Why are you not arguing that Trump should have loved the US or left back when he was running his campaign?
3) Why do you think people should not use the democratic system and all its mechanisms to agitate for change?
4) How do you have the audacity to speak of “identity politics” when declaring non white Americans less than true Americans by insisting non white Americans have countries to “go back to”.
5) Why is Omar held to a different standard of naturalised American? Why does her foreign born status mean she cannot criticise what she sees as the bad parts of the USA?
I can imagine back in the 50s/60s Rick49 would have been screaming at Rosa Parks “hey if you don’t like it, leave!!!”

I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before but...
Ilhan Omar has been a US citizen for longer than Trumps's wife Melania.

Silly question, I already know you don't, the far right bubble you live in simply would not have given you the facts, only the propaganda.

I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before but... Ilhan Omar has been a US citizen for longer than Trumps's wife Melania. In fairness, Trump probably also thinks Melania shouldn't have an opinion about anything.

I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before but... Ilhan Omar has been a US citizen for longer than Trumps's wife Melania. But Melania’s white. That trumps everything citizenship related. Sorry I don’t make the rules.

Where is the individual, what about the black conservatives, the Hispanic conservative what about the Asian conservatives, they don't count do they? this woman is a fascist radical, one view for one colour and they get to decide the opinion for you, total leftist ideology!" Yes he did. Why would he be saying "Make America Great Again" if he didn't hate what it was?

(Note: My argument's clearly bollocks, but it's no more bollocks than the argument that AOC hates the country because she thinks its foreign policy's crap and that it's done nothing like enough to overcome its racist legacy).

So why didn't he leave in 2010 during the Obama presidency that he hated so much? He didn't like Obama. He didn't hate the entire county. He criticised the American social and political set-up. Not merely Obama. Why are white people allowed to criticise America’s actions / government etc. But non-white people are told to accept everything as is lest they “hate America”?
