"On March 27, it was announced that the FBI is investigating as to why the charges were dismissed." Smollett will likely be the star witness, he won't be able to plea the 5th,

Yup - American Courts: the best that money can buy. Don't ask me to respect a country where there is one rule for blacks and one for whites, but where being a black sleb can appear to suddenly imbue him or her with some kind of skin depigmentation. Of course, Cosby would seem to be the exception to this rule. It'll be interesting to see how the latest Cardi B. revelations of drugging and robbing her ex-punters in her chequered past will play out. What are you talking about American courts for? Jussie hasn’t gone to court? I am still at a loss as to how this case is comparable to OJ. It does seem that you just reached for a random black celeb to compare this birracial celebrity to in entirely different circumstances. Also are you alleging that charges being dropped is unique to the USA? Your entire post is incredibly confused. You just seem to have seen Jussie is black-ish and gone off on a weirdly wild tangent. Of course it hasn't gone to Court yet, because the court of public opinion is in the process of trying to justify why Smollett's charitable work should be reason enough to not take him to a Court of Law. The allegation is that he faked his own attack citing homophobia and racism as the motive, the evidence for which is scant to non-existent. In the old country, this would be seen as grounds for a charge of perverting the course of justice, a crime that strikes at the very heart of the Law system itself, and therefore something that is dealt with harshly, and rightly so. Interesting that you (not me) have raised the issue of race but, whilst we’re on that subject, the chief prosecutor of the OJ case, Marcia Clark, went on record in her book saying that Simpson should have been convicted on the DNA evidence alone, a view which has not been contested in Court or elsewhere. Also interestingly, the final jury, most of whom lacked a college education to understand the strength of the DNA evidence, comprised 9 blacks, with the remainder being white or Hispanic – clearly not representative of the racial makeup of the population of LA as a whole, where only about 10% are black. Moreover, the jury took a mere four hours to deliberate a case that had lasted the previous nine months, following which one of the black jurors (subsequently found to be a member of the Black Panther movement) gave the Black Power salute when the trial verdict was announced, giving the lie to the whole notion that the defence did not make race the main motive for the LAPD/DA office bringing the case in the first place. Clark has also gone on record stating that issues of “race and celebrity” compromised the trial. Ya dig? “Race and celebrity”. Why the race card seems to be your (and others’) “go to” defence for criminal behaviour that needs to be aired in open Court baffles me; it smacks of desperation, lazy thinking and the willingness to question others’ attitudes by raising it as an issue where none exists. Cosby is black and I had no issue with his prosecution. Weinstein is white and I have no problem with his either. The issue I do have is where either celebrity is used as an excuse not to prosecute, or issues of race are aired when this was not the topic being discussed – a classic straw man.

Curiouser and curiouser. As ever, the cover up by the left makes the whole thing worse. To sum up then, Smollett was guilty and is now guiltier while Trump has been exonerated of everything, ever.

Can you imagine how proud Smollett's lawyer's parents are right now?

Yes, so perhaps this is Weinstein's best destiny - employ Smollett's lawyer and get her to cite all the charitable good works he's financed over the years. She'll be saying "his record has been wiped clean" in no time.
Or perhaps not ...

It hasn’t gone to Court yet so it’s agreed the comparison to OJ is moronic and just you doing a weird comparison because both guys are non white despite every other factor being different. Got it. It’s not the race card - it’s just you comparing two fantastically different cases which makes one wonder why on Earth you think they’re remotely comparable. They aren’t. There are literally zero comparable factors. None. Well apart from one and we know what that is so stop playing dumb. Your entire post is nonsensical. OJ was prosecuted. There is zero comparison.

Maybe the OJ comparison is getting excited at what might be the only two times black people have had a favourable experience from the US justice system, unlike rich white dudes who get gentle slaps on the wrist all the time
