It should not be forgotten that when Nadhim Zahawi had his run in with HMRC it was Angela Rayner who led the attack. She told BBC Breakfast: “The fact that Nadhim hasn’t been out on the airwaves explaining himself, to me, adds insult to injury, especially given that he called this smears…” She told the Commons that he had to “come clean” or go and opined on the weakness of his party leader on “failing to deliver the integrity, professionalism and accountability he promised.” Quite."

I'm happy to go with Shakespeare's version (as in the First Folio edition, less so the Quartos), to wit Queen Gertrude thinks that the Player Queen in Murder of Gonzago ('the play within a play') is protesting i.e. declaring her love for her husband too much, to the point that she says she will never remarry; clearly at this point Gertrude realises that her son Hamlet is alluding to the murder of his father/her then husband, by Claudius, her new husband.

What modern interpretation is ascribed to this oft-misquoted line (the fickleness of the female in sexual matters, the nature of truth and honesty regardless of gender, whether sexual fidelity and the lack of sexual infidelity are the same thing etc. etc.) - well, I'll leave that up to others.

I declined a place at Bristol to read English. I was put off by the luvvies that come with English Lit., laughing at Shakespeare plays and generally being knobbish.
