Yes - you displaying your lack of knowledge of the psychology of abuse. That you seem not to understand that women seeking to protect their abusers (often from police or others who attempt to intervene) is frighteningly common. How on earth is discussing mocking of female DV victims on a story about a female DV victim “shoehorning”? Labelling a DV victim a “tedious animal” for being shot at by an intimate partner and then, like many victims before her, aiming to protect him is really low.
