It occured to me that I didn't know much about Joe Biden. Seemed like a decent enough chap, maybe not a bad candidate for POTUS. And then I read that he is a teetotaler. Creepy. Yeeuuch.

I suppose Joe is a nice enough chap, but past his prime, he is an empty suit now and will be till he is replaced by whoever is VP, if elected, there is a reason his handlers are trying to stop the debates, why he is kept in his basement,
also he would mean the US would become socialist/communist,

Love the fact the reps are so worried about people voting they will do and say anything to stop people from doing so. we know there is very little voter fraud, Trumps commission into why he lost the popular vote last time found nothing, in fact the only proven voter fraud last time was by the GOP. Postal ballots have been a big part of US democracy since the Civil War, ffs Trump himself has voted by post in the past. In fact its telling that he's been railing against postal ballots, but only in states he thinks he's gonna loose big in, the other other day he was tweeting how important for Florida to support postal voting cos he thinks postal voting will help him there.

Trump and the GOP know they have lost the argument and in a free and fair election they loose every time, but instead of reflecting on why, they simply seek to subvert, and restrict the franchise. There's a reason US democracy ranks very low in comparison to other advanced Western nations.

I think the idea is making them stand in line will put them off voting at all, and taking away postal cores and hobbling the post office so even you can get a postal ballot the service is now so slow anf unreliable since Trump put a croney in place to try and kill it before the election, that a lot of those postal votes will never be counted.

At this point its so brazenly anti democratic what the gop is doing they can't even be arsed to pretend its otherwise

On the one hand you have Biden contradicting himself on some random issue. On the other you hand you have Trump being asked what he thought of John Lewis says right off "he didn't go to my inauguration (waaaa!), opining that "yeah, people are dying - it is what it is" and then later, just for fun, goes over vetting by Congress to place a high-level Pentagon appointment anyway, once again removing power from one branch to help the executive branch dominate.

I really can’t understand why the Republicans are so desperate to say that there’s no Russian interaction with our democratic processes. We all know it’s happening. Are they all as thin-skinned as Trump and feel that their own electoral successes would be delegitimised if they admitted that people were trying to influence it? Or is it because they, bizarrely, actually think the Russians are genuinely helping them and therefore don’t want anyone stopping it?

No one said there was no Russian interaction in election, only the Trump was not involved, it has pretty much been proved that Trump was not involved,
I doubt there has been an election in my lifetime where there has not been Russian interaction

So we agree, then. Rick was having a melt-down because the media is still concerned about Russian meddling.

The Russians are obviously meddling, and in 2016 were meddling to try and get Trump elected (because Putin had a long running hatred of Hillary). Trump's problem is his stupidly thin skin which resulted in all kinds of lies about how there couldn't possibly have been any meddling because that would mean his electoral college victory was tainted and his ego couldn't take that. And that resulted in the other lies about how nobody in his campaign met anybody who'd ever spoken to anyone who'd ever been to Russia.

The issue now is not that Trump is working with Putin (though he does many things to further Putins interests) its that US intelligence has said Putin is doing all he can to get trump relected and even laying out how up to an including the sham investigation Grassley and co are cooking up using stuff supplied by Putins Kiev stoogies.

Trump may not be working directly with Putin, but he firers anyone who tells the truth about what's happening, claims its a hoax and so on, again siding with Putin over his own countries service members.

The difficulty that some of us over here in the UK is - we think Trump is appalling but we also loath atifa and BLM and all the associated scum.

The interesting thing is that Putin thought that Brexit would weaken Europe - which of course he wanted, but it's made it stronger.


Not all of Putin's plans go to fruition. He's like a James Bond villain
