I am waiting for some biological women to join a Men's rugby team or boxing club & to compete against biological blokes... Why? Why would you be fixated on the “biological sex” of the people competing?

I see the pattern. Bigots say “what about the actual competitors?” Actual competitors say “now I’ve spent time looking at this, trans women are women and should be compete against women” Bigots start talking telling us that rape is the same as returning a library book late. Only different in degree. That enough late library books is the same as a rape. Any ridiculous tripe in order to distract from the fact that their previous bollocks talking point has been shot down. It would appear actual competitors say: "are you having a f*cking giraffe?" www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1108399/anna-vanbellinghen-hubbard"I am aware that defining a legal frame for transgender participation in sports is very difficult since there is an infinite variety of situations, and that reaching an entirely satisfactory solution, from either side of the debate, is probably impossible.
"However, anyone that has trained weightlifting at a high level knows this to be true in their bones: this particular situation is unfair to the sport and to the athletes."
Vanbellinghen, 27, whose qualifying efforts were disrupted by injury, pointed out that the retained benefit of taking steroids, even years earlier, is widely known.
"So why is it still a question whether two decades, from puberty to the age of 35, with the hormonal system of a man also would give an advantage [in competing against women]?
"I understand that for sports authorities nothing is as simple as following your common sense, and that there are a lot of impracticalities when studying such a rare phenomenon, but for athletes the whole thing feels like a bad joke.
"Life-changing opportunities are missed for some athletes - medals and Olympic qualifications - and we are powerless.
"Of course, this debate is taking place in a broader context of discrimination against transgender people, and that is why the question is never free of ideology.
"However, the extreme nature of this particular situation really demonstrates the need to set up a stricter legal framework for transgender inclusion in sports, and especially elite sports.
"Because I do believe that everyone should have access to sports, but not at the expense of others."Oh, and this; www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1108392/big-read-laurel-hubbard“True in their bones” AAAAAAAAARGH! “True in their bones”. “It’s just how I feel” “It’s just common sense”. I don’t why we have embraced this model of thinking. If they are going to take a position on something why not be an educated position based on reading and studying a topic?! Maybe the reason it is “still a question decades later” is because that is what the science suggests? Edit: Missed the second link. Ok that’s better. At least he is making reference to some studies on the subject to justify his opposition.

It's an inspiration to all middle aged men who thought their dreams of competing in the Olympics had died. Out of interest - do you genuinely think middle aged cis men are putting their body through the physical stress of transition just to compete, win medals then they will ‘detransistion’’

NZ have just started chasing about 150, with 50 overs remaining on the Day 6 reserve day, on a slightly shonky wicket. All 4 results are currently possible.

If I were a betting man I'd probably have 40% Draw, 34% NZ, 25% India, 1% Tie.

It's looking good for NZ now! Not nailed on, quite, but definitely getting there. The highest risk is running out of overs or light.

Maybe they need to bring on the women's team to deliver a final crushing blow.

Excellent result and a much more enjoyable match than expected after all that time was lost for bad weather.
I like this reserve day business. Have a max of five days of cricket which leaves the draw as a legitimate result, but have the reserve day so that the match is less likely to be ruined by crappy weather.

It's always a bit odd hearing Deutschland Uber Alles before German games. Even odder before French games. I guess we'll just have to get used to it.

Also queer, ironic even, that the on screen scorecard thing has shortened Hungary to Hun.
