The left really are strikingly similar to medieval religious types. Wedded to shallow gestures; a propensity to form mobs and attack others for not believing the same things; driven by ignorance and a woeful misunderstanding of what makes people tick; and a grim belief in end of the world scenarios to which they are the only salvation.

I think you mean that you became hysterical reading it. And confused too it seems.

Good. It shows what a positive effect taking the knee has had, but also why it's still needed. And how Marcus Rashford is better at doing things for Britain than anyone in the current government. I'm just surprised that the BBC is reporting on it given their general pandering to the racists. What positive effect? More reporting of the same trivial incident? Is that what monogenuflection is all about? The positive effect that more people are becoming aware of the endemic racism in the country, and that more people are willing to comment on it and stand up to it. It’s great. The taking the knee, and the work done by Rashford have made a material difference and I’m glad that we all agree that they should keep doing it, and that it should keep being reported as the main news on all news media, all the time. I had thought that kneeling was a bit of an empty gesture, but seeing the inflamed response of the racists who’ve been booing it (or tweeting in favour of booing it in the case of Tory MPs) shows that it’s working.

I suspect it's just entrenching bigotry.

Maybe it is entrenching bigotry in the minority who remain bigoted who get angry and freaked out by black people expressing opinions. But it’s also sidelining them by showing that they exist, allowing the vast majority of the public who are not racist to see the problem and see where it is and make sure that the kinds of racists who boo black people for having opinions, or who tweet in favour of booing black people for having opinions are treated as racists who should become even more social outcasts than they were to start with. And responses like that wall on the Rashford mural help to show that the vast majority want to resist the tide of racist nonsense.
More kneeling, please. More winding up the racist goons, please. More sticking it on the front page to wind up the goons more, please.

Wishful thinking. In what way does the Rashford Wall demonstrate a majority outlook? Are there about 4OM postings there?
Dangerously lazy thinking, that.

The vast majority of people who put stuff on the Rashford Wall are pro-knee, anti-booing, anti-racist. I think we can extrapolate that people like you and Priti Patel and the 40+ bloated tattooed pink marshmallow-shaped men who boo a basic anti-racism gesture at football matches are clearly a minority.

Bit patronising, that. Do you believe the public are unaware of racism? Really? Most of them are sick to the back teeth of it. It's become a huge bandwagon for all the losers in the world to harp on about.

So you’re saying that the vast majority of English people are racist?
Weird take.

I would say that the vast majority are deeply ambivalent about a small amount of online gittishness. It's wierd that you think a a fee childish posts on a wall in Manchester is a bellwether of popular sentiment.
It does explain why you think almost everyone agrees with transcheating.

That's part of the issue, isn't it. A few tweets, most from abroad vs. a huge outpouring of support for the "penalty specialists". 9999999999/10000000000th of the glass is full and it's, "Waaaaaaaaah!!! Things are awful!!!"

Basically some people need to hammer on about things. What would they do if racism stopped overnight?

Yeah, it's just a bandwagon: both a platform for their selfrighteousness and a vehicle for their accusations of bigotry or Uncle Tom name-calling, sometimes both.
