What I like about him is that he is capable of seeing the stupidity of the extremes of both Left & Right. Being able to see good and bad on both sides.
Not becoming Left or Right (maybe in your teenage years) and then defending that side regardless of how awful they may become from time to time.
Being able to say for example "I am on the Left but that's just awful or I'm on the Right and nothing Trump can do will ever ever make me think that he's not brilliant"

I mention it only cos the right are the ones obsessed with cancel culture (a phrase they made up btw) yet are are bad if not worse at targeting those who's views they disagree with, and often in a far more nasty manner.

Yes it's interesting because, as you know, the Left do a lot of Cancelling too. But you simply could not find it within yourself to mention that as well. I’m sure the Spartacist left do some actual cancelling. But most of the things that the loony-right describe as “cancelling” aren’t actually cancelling. Teaching one book rather than another in school is not cancelling - everyone can still read those books. Removing statues to racists that were built as part of a propaganda campaign in the 1920s or 1960s isn’t really “cancelling” - or if it is it’s completely reasonable. Most of the stuff that Rick freaks out that the left are about to do - wipe Thomas Jefferson from history, or destroy the Lincoln Memorial - just aren’t happening. Reminding everyone that Jefferson was a slaveholder isn’t “cancelling” anything: it’s the opposite. It’s actually filling out the details on Jefferson. |

It's hilarious seeing the right trying to paint BLM as a terrorist group, even though the only ones calling for, violence, looting and cop killing turned out to be white supremacist groups pretending to by antifa and a boogaloo boy who shot and killed a cop and a federal security guard while trying to hide inside a BLM protest.
Yet utter silence from the right on these after initially screamed like a baby on fire about BLM and antifa being behind them.

what to, if its faux right wing outrage and making sh*t up wholesale, look at any of Ricks posts over the past decade, if its twitter closing down fake accounts of white supremacists calling to looting, violence and cop killing by pretending to be antifa, well I posted that a while back, same with the boogaloo boy who tried to start a race war by murdering a federal security guard and a cop from his van during a BLM march.
