"LBJ's civil rights stuff." and the welfare system of LBJ's Great Society destroyed blacks families. and blacks have never recovered from the carnage. Citation needed. black women could get more money on welfare if she was raising children on her own without a working husband. that opened the floodgates of men leaving their wives so their wife and kids would get more money. it tore black families apart and blacks have never recovered from the unintended damage welfare caused.

Family Breakdown and America’s Welfare System "It is important to realize that things weren’t always so. The black American family provides a stark example. From 1890 to 1950, black women had a higher marriage rate than white women. And in 1950, just 9% of black children lived without their father. By 1960, the black marriage rate had declined but remained close to the white marriage rate. In other words, despite open racism and widespread poverty, strong black families used to be the norm." "But by the mid-1980s, black fatherlessness skyrocketed. Today, only 44% of black children have a father in the home. In unison, the rate of black out-of-wedlock births went from 24.5% in 1964 to 70.7% by 1994, roughly where it stands today." "One contributor to family breakdown, which soon spread to the poor and working-class white family, may have been welfare expansion. Cash welfare in meager form existed since 1935,4 and some welfare expansion took place during the Kennedy administration. But under Johnson’s Great Society, which began in 1964, benefits became substantially more generous and came under greater control of the federal government." "In the words of Harvard’s Paul Peterson, “some programs actively discouraged marriage,” because “welfare assistance went to mothers so long as no male was boarding in the household… Marriage to an employed male, even one earning the minimum wage, placed at risk a mother’s economic well-being.” Infamous “man in the house” rules meant that welfare workers would randomly appear in homes to check and see if the mother was accurately reporting her family-status." ifstudies.org/blog/family-breakdown-and-americas-welfare-system

That’s not a citation.

Women are supported in leaving miserable home environments. Far better to force adults to remain together in miserable relationships. Cos. Reasons. Also welfare should go to those in need I can see why they would support households with one income as opposed to two. But while conservatives moan about this they never actually come up with sensible solutions.

so it's far better to break up black families for a few extra crumbs from their white overlords.

so it's far better to break up black families for a few extra crumbs from their white overlords. “To break up black families”. You have this weird notion that government officials are walking into people’s households and breaking them up at gun point. I am saying I am not going to dictate to a couple who no longer wish to be in a relationship that they need to stay together. I would never date a man I had no desire to date so it would be fairly hypocritical of me to expect differently of others. What do you suggest? How can you prevent people who don’t wish to to be together from breaking up?

That seems to be implied when you’re arguing against welfare because it gives people the freedom to separate.

And yet they still had slaves for another century, and half the country fought a war of treason so they could keep on keeping slaves...

That is exactly what the articles you have posted are suggesting when they lament the fact couples separate. You seem to think black adults are children who can be forced to separate because welfare officers tell them to. You completely strip them of agency in the decision making process.

So, anti-white racism. It became acceptable when?

True. I don't think black folks have needed government intervention to be poor parents.
