Boris heading for the door by the looks of things, the Scotish Tories are in open revolt now saying he needs to go. Though, being the grubby little chancer he is, is desperately clinging on be his finger tips.
Doubt they'll be throwing him an, er, er, work meeting in the garden, as he's booted out the door.

Like Churchill, he's a great wartime leader who single-handedly defeated a global enemy. Now though, with his extreme far left communist wife running things, he should probably step aside. Strength in depth is one of the major assets of the Tories and with extreme competence being their middle name, they have an embarrassment of riches waiting to pick up the keys of Number 10.

For once Starmer did the thing he's failed for so so long to do, and actually did the whole barrister squewering thing, Boris was left looking like a fish hit be a harpoon.

Starmer couldn't skewer his own arse. If Sir Boris does go, it'll be because of innate Tory decency. Labour will just be standing looking on helplessly as usual.

The BBC are yanking themselves raw over this, insisting that "Senior Tories" are demanding that Bozza throws in the towel. There's very little to support that, although I see that they have managed to wheel in a number of no doubt polically unaligned NHS folks to whinge about how they were in front line combat while Boris sipped champagne and scoffed at piles of emaciated minority cadavers.

My guess is that Truss, Rees-Mogg, Gove, Sunak, Patel, Javid, and possibly Raab and Hancock are demanding that Bozza resigns. Because all of them think they're going to be the next PM.

Incidentally, this pretty much matches what I predicted Boris's end game would be a couple of months ago. They clearly have enough ammo to take him down, but were waiting until the Omicron surge had basically peaked.
Kick him out at peak unpopularity then garner the unearned plaudits for the fall in cases that was going to happen anyway.

Well, it could be any of them. Not so for Starmer's piss-weak bunch of harridans and thicky bedwetters.

Boris will not resign nor will he be forced to go. The General Election is a few years off. He will stay until the end - by which time Gardengate will be forgotten. The Conservatives will win yet another term under a new leader - but by a greatly reduce margin.

Hmmm. It certainly feels like a convenient time to change leader with a general election a long way off, and no apparent downside for whoever the new boss is. They can't make things any worse Covid- or Brexit-wise and the Tories probably can't go much lower in the polls.

Johnson will stick to the blanket, no doubt about it, it's his (and her) MO.

Having said wot I said above, saying you popped in somewhere for twenty minutes but had no idea what was going on is believable if you're an English batsman - but not if you're the Prime Minister.
