‘Member when I said that “multiculturalism is just conservative speak for anything bad done by a brown or black person”. Basically “diversity disaster” is the same thing. For white people their race is only ever incidental in the minds of gammon conservatives. For non white people it’s the key factor in the story.

It's hilarious how bhm causes the far extreme left to become even more wailingly racist.

Please go to lots of them … I m sure they are lots of fun & I’m sure that you will meet lots of “like minded people”… They will definitely be a progressive bunch that’s for sure. Sounds great! … yes indeed, lots of other misandrists & race hustlers 😊👍

I see trees and hills are still racist. Anyway, not enough mountains in London apparently. I'll counter with the bleat that I don't have opera houses and art galleries in my street. Wah. "One might think that nature, being free, is available to all. But free isn’t enough when we consider the barriers faced by minority communities. Geographical limitations are often the first hurdle: most minority communities are based in urban areas, making it an endeavour both in terms of time and resources to travel to rural areas. A recent study showed the whitest areas of the country enjoy an astounding 144% more local footpaths than the most ethnically diverse. Policy changes need to be enacted that ensure equitable access to public footpaths and green spaces, especially in urban areas. Public transport routes to green spaces need to be improved and subsidised for lower-income households." www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2023/oct/02/minority-communities-uk-green-spaces-nature-racial-disparities

What on earth is “race hustling”? Are you naturally stupid or did it take a lot of work? Anyway I know any events will be attended by the bright, the beautiful, the progressive and the open-minded. The bigots and xenophobes will be far away. Thankfully.

I mean, lots of it is totally trite. But it also contains a fair amount of truth. People who don't know what they're doing in the hills, people ill-equipped and not knowing the right equipment, and so on, are far less likely to go canoeing in the deep backwoods of British Columbia (and when they go they're going to f**k it up and cost a lot of money and create a lot of trouble for mountain rescue and fire control teams).
And not going out for a mountain bike ride in the hills like I did this morning makes you less fit, less healthy, and less happy. People should be doing it (although I like the trails being empty, so I'm torn on the matter).

By the same token ... "Water firms want bill rises to cut leaks and spills" : Males AND females - how diverse ...! ... but how hideously white, the lot of 'em. Seems like white people are adept at holding out the begging bowl to cover investments that we were promised would be made over 40 years ago. So, key takeaways ... - White people put dividend payments before investment; - White people put dividends before water quality; - White people don't mind your kids swimming in sh*t; - White people can play on a lie for decades; - etc. etc. ... Have I missed anything, or was your original post demonstrably racist b*ll*cks? Yeah, you've missed the point in your panic to throw an ism-fit. Entirely predictable, of course. Gammered and triggoned.

So, demonstrably racist b*ll*cks it was then.
Thanks for clarifying.

Coastal areas, woodland, fancy neighbours with outrageous wealth - hills, flats, seeing whales off the coast. With a large portion of the year providing decent weather to do it in. Haven’t really investigated what the surrounds of London has to offer in that regard but the Sydney walls are excellent.

Or with the idea that if you grew up in an inner city with parents who didn't go for walks, you might find the idea of all these over-equipped people with their compasses and their laminated maps and their 4 season bivvy bags and their waxed walking boots and their 40 liter packs with drinking bladders and their nagging insistence that there's no such thing as bad weather, just wrong equipment a bit intimidating.
If you actually go outside a lot, you realise they're talking utter sh*t. That you don't need 90% of the stuff these morons carry with them in 99% of circumstances and it's trivial to avoid the other 1% of circumstances by not going into the hills in bad weather. But if you just heard the nagging from "serious" 70 year old hikers it would be easy to think that it's not for you.
And if you live in Peckham or Neasden and don't have a car, the choices of hikes that are available to you are moderately limited to either the North Downs in Surrey or the Chilterns out near Amersham.

city folk trying trying to prepare for the great outdoors is a source of endless amusement. 100% truth in this. I've been up on Helvellyn and seen morons with nothing more than a t-shirt and brogues. I've been on hikes with people who decided to bring an umbrella. The choices so often are massively overequipped or massively underequipped.

So we're agreed then. If you want to go for a walk in the country, just go. Don't whine about "barriers" and "not seeing people who look like me" (wtaf on that last one). And if you live in the big city, don't bleat about it not simultaneously being the country.
