There are organisations in Europe that are providing "online medical advice and referrals" for abortions, where they refer patients to pharmacies in India who'll send, discreetly, abortion pills to the US. It's going to be fairly hard for the states to regulate these so hopefully most women needing abortions early in their pregnancies can get relatively easy access. I think import to the US is still legal for these drugs, so the states would have to find a way of stopping them at the state borders, and I don't really know how they'd do that easily.

Of course, that doesn't help when someone is utterly f**k*d by these laws later in pregnancy like that case in Malta recently.

Except that states are creating laws making it illegal to help someone drive to a state that has abortion, or to provide information about abortion. Also, of you live, say, in Houston, you're likely to have a 1000 mile drive to get anywhere that has legal abortion. Which is not a reasonable state of affairs for someone who - say - has no money, or (in the Maltese case) is on the verge of death.

you assume that's even a possibility, when we know due to poverty and many other factors, driving massive distances to get healthcare is just not an option for many, so yeah a bottle of gin and a coat hanger is going to be the only option for many women. The idea banning abortion means it goes away has always been risible, it carries on like it always has, its just gonna be far less safe and many women will die, but hey, when did the far right care about any of that, its about control, plain and simple.

And the Court's pre-decision "leak" was no leak at all . . it was planned. That particular Court information was intended for getting the far fringe wackos' heads popping up out of their burrows for "whack-a-mole" style head counts by federal law enforcement agencies in order to spot any potential criminal protesters.

Who?? there has never been any restrictions to travel in the US, where did you get that??

CA does have border crossing stations to check for produce or so they say, there is no check point at state borders, only at border with Canada

nonsense, closest I can find to that is to turn in those health providers in Texas that provide abortion after the 6 week limit, it does nothing to keep them in Texas, and going to New Mexico or Mississippi

look again, Texas has enacted bounty hunter laws where members of the public can go after women getting health care, those who drive them to appointments (even the Uber driver), anyone who gives them information about how to access healthcare. And many other states are enacting copy cat laws.
