In Texas the law says that you can sue someone who helps provide transportation to an abortion clinic. This means that anyone who drives, who sells fuel, who sells food, who provides any service to any woman trying to travel out of state for an abortion, can be taken to court under the vigilante clause.

On the ground, SB 8 is wreaking havoc. Although the law has prohibited access to most abortions in the state, Texans continue to need and seek abortion care. Those with the resources to do so have been forced to flee the state. Individuals with the means to take time off work, find childcare, and pay for transportation have made long journeys to clinics in other states in order to access abortion. Providers thousands of miles away now report seeing Texas patients, and neighboring states — such as Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma — are overwhelmed with Texas patients. The influx of patients has caused weeks-long wait times in appointments for both traveling Texans and local patients alike. Even for those who are able to access care, SB 8’s delays from travel and wait times are pushing them later into pregnancy. Although abortion is very safe, and much safer than childbirth, each week of unnecessary delay increases the risks of the procedure. from above link it seems that they are making it out of Texas,

but, more to the point so what, from a constitution point of view, abortion is a medical issue and is not an issue for the US government, there are planes going to and from texas every day to many states that do abortions,

there are planes going to and from texas every day to many states that do abortions, And every single pilot, flight crew, person on the ground crew, anyone selling tickets, any of them, can be taken to court if they know someone is travelling for an abortion.

yeah I saw that, Malta has always been a bit of a backwards religious sh*t hole, nice for your jollies, but you'd not want to be a woman living there expecting it to be 2022. TBF I think the Maltese are more socially conservative than religiously so.

They did win the George Cross though. Significantly, before they joined the EU. Have they won it since? No. No they have not.

There we go. We knew it was coming. States right apply, or they don't, depending on the whims of the fascists on the supreme court. Clarence Thomas explicitly says "We're coming after gay marriage, contraception and non-marital sex next". The civilised Yanks will just have to move, en masse to the civilised states. Unfortunately a lot of civilised people will be stuck.

another win!! there is no right to abortion in the constitution, therefor, according to the 10tham it goes to the states, totally correct A win for who? Definitely not those in need of terminations where states prevent it (and even those suffering a natural abortion where it is suspected they induced it chemically.)

Well this wont end abortion, it will just make it extremely unsafe, though might be time to invest in these. or one could drive to a state that does abortionIf you need one critically and the nearest border is 1000 km away?

Jimbo would claim that as we have an amendment in place there’s no need to worry. But that logic says that slavery actually was totally fine and should have been left to the states before the 13th amendment was brought in. I imagine a number of people are excited about the possibility of returning those laws to the states and taking them away from the feds.

Amazing, isn't it? You can be in the EU and still keep your sovereignty.

So Missouri has made abortion illegal on the grounds that it's against human life. But it has the death penalty.
