This are some pretty funky photos Voice!
I am off to the nation’s capital this weekend which is perfect for ANZAC.
It looks pretty cold though. Sadly…

Wind has been howling for the first three days of this trip. 70mph gusts forecast for tomorrow in the higher mountains which makes both cycling and camping seem like a very, very daft idea. Now we have to make alternative arrangements to escape from here.

Good luck. Do they not have weather forecast over there or was this all just part of a fiendish scheme to have some downtime in a place other than Massachusetts?

The forecast five days ago when we set off was going to be 10-15mph winds. We planned well. Situations changed. We adapted.

Parliament House - actually far more interesting than I thought it would be.
The remnants of the “convoy to Canberra” protestors were pathetically small though.

Well, now CW McCall's passed on, there can't be many left.

Have a nice time. Cycling, I take it? Check the weather forecast or you might "accidentally" find yourself in a Brokeback Mountain situation.

I don't think there are many cougars on the Pyrenees, but you might be pulled off by a she-wolf.

Bit of a training camp. Got a big event beginning of June. Trois balloons, Vosges mountains. So trying to get on some fitness.

Yikes. Sounds very strenuous. I wish I had the patience for cycling.

Odd. I hate running because I get bored sh*tress but on a bike you see a lot of country. We'll pedal from Dunkirk to the trois balloons. 100 miles a day. You see a lot of France.

Running is actually one of my favourite things to do (next to hiking) as long as the view is nice. I am just getting back into running now after years break so am pretty sh*t. The bad thing about Oz is the weather means for a good chunk of the year trying to run is a nightmare (the middle of summer).
I used to love being able to run in the cold weather along the Thames. Although being older my body does not like running as much as it used to.

That's true, I suppose. Running is boring and painful, so I don't do that either. I am about to go for a gentle walk in Spithandle woods, which are full of bluebells.

Definitely with the guys here as running bores me witless.
Walking is pleasurable because it's leisurely and that's the way it's supposed to be.
Cycling is ace. You're out in the open and not so fast you can't appreciate the surroundings, but quick enough to enjoy the speed.
100 miles a day would be a bit much for me though!

...Spithandle woods, which are full of bluebells. Is that some kind of gay slang?

I used to like running but it does become heavy going on the body as you age. I used to be able to take a good pounding but not so much any more...

Moving my youngest back home for the summer, first year in Uni done. He's just turned 19 so can legally go down the pub here, so no doubt I'll have to take him for a pint of two.
