brilliant, before your river of weak piss sweeps us all away, I can be content that my work is done. Still, its fish in a barrel and all that... Hang on, a woman's work is never done.

I mean, it's possibly worth pointing out that Voice's initial graphic is very US centric and a bit rubbish. But it was worth posting just to get the entirely predictable river of piss.

should have put a trigger warning on this post obviously... IWD exists to wind up the Bearmans of this world and for that reason it will always be a good thing.

Yeah, no doubt the idiot will be along later, and if he recovers from the the initial shock of opening the thread, will no doubt be apoplectic by the list, though he might not survive seeing someone thought to include Harris.

TBF, I'm not sure Harris is particularly notable per herself. She's notable for being the first woman VP, sure, but not particularly notable as a Veep yet, nor was she as a Senator. She'd be mainstream and forgettable as a bloke in either role.

oh her appeal is the fact she induces puce faced rage in the idiots just for existing, though I'm sure they'd be just as outraged and unhinged in their reactions over any women in that role. She was always a very right wing democrat and rather authoritarian when an AG.

IWD is a lovely idea, as it's great to be able to celebrate (as much as I dislike the overuse of that word) the contribution of women that most people may have not heard of, have forgotten or have overlooked.
Malorie Blackman, Kathleen Ferrier, Rosalind Franklin, Dorothy Hodgkin, Linda Smith and Gillian Tett all have my personal vote - and that's just the UK contingent.

Malorie Blackman counts as a three-word score, surely?
Female, black, gender-fluid.

Linda Smith was the only one I had heard of. Very funny lady.

Margaret Thatcher. Her ongoing absence for these types of lists starkly exposes the ideology behind. You don't have to approve of her politics but to deny her achievement in becoming PM and all that that means for women is absurdly childish.
Also nobody ever, ever, ever mentions Caroline Herschel. A pioneering astronomer, disabled and a Kraut to boot!

Yeah, it's a pretty creepy agenda really. I think it's more about the posting than the post. The usual virtue-signalling. Insincere and a bit needy.

A feminist picnic turned into a complete disaster yesterday after none of the women brought any sandwiches. The picnic was supposed to celebrate the capabilities of women in a safe, women-only environment, but things didn’t quite go as planned.
With the sun hanging high in the sky it seemed to be perfect weather for a picnic. But the seven proud feminist friends were in for a big surprise when none of them brought any food at all.
‘I brought a communal picnic hamper for us to all throw in the food we’d brought. I was expecting the usual picnic fare: sandwiches, crisps, a nice fruit salad, and so on – but no-one else brought a single thing. Not so much as a sausage. I was even more furious about my lot in life than usual. I ended up storming off and shame eating three Big Macs from the nearest McDonalds. I’m a vegetarian so it was particularly galling for me to have to do that,’ said picnic organiser Rachel Queen.
The other six women refused to accept the responsibility though, each loudly proclaiming that making sandwiches wasn’t a job exclusively for women. They all managed to turn the blame for the gigantic cock up onto men.
‘Men have turned food preparation into a subservient role to be forced upon women. I never make my own food, that is just one of the many interesting ways I fight the patriarchy,’ said non-sandwich maker Roberta Brooke.
All future feminist picnics have been cancelled.

Hodgkin and Franklin are obvious ones that Moggs mentions. The lack of Curie is Curious, too.
Thatcher, though, is like Kamala Harris. Impressive for what she achieved *as a woman* in a male dominated world. The first woman to have her job. I used to think she was exceptional but looking at the Tory leaders who’ve come since she appears to be a non-descript any old Tory leader with the combination of nastiness and bigotry and ego.

Harris is a diversity hire. Thatch got to her position by hard work, determination and will power.
