A disabled street vendor was beaten to death in broad daylight for alleging complimenting a man’s girlfriend. What was especially shocking was everybody just stood around and watched. It’s not even clear that people called for help. Poor man. news.sky.com/story/amp/italian-police-arrest-man-for-brutal-street-killing-that-was-filmed-as-no-one-intervened-12662812“Italian police have arrested a man over the brutal killing of a Nigerian street-seller, an attack that was filmed by onlookers in broad daylight without any apparent attempt to intervene. Video footage of the attack on disabled man Alika Ogorchukwu has circulated widely on Italian news websites and social media platforms. Police said people can be heard saying "stop" but no attempts were made to separate the pair”. “Luconi told Sky TG24 that the assailant lashed out after the vendor made "insistent" requests for pocket change. Police were questioning witnesses and have taken into evidence videos of the attack. They said the suspect has made no statements. Mr Ogorchukwu, who was married with two children, resorted to selling goods on the street after he was hit by a car and lost his job as a labourer due to the injuries he suffered. The accident left him with a limp, and needing crutches, said Daniel Amanza, who runs the ACSIM association for immigrants in the Marche region's Macerata province. Mr Amanza claimed the aggressor became infuriated when Mr Ogorchukwu told the man's companion she was beautiful.”

its quite indicative of where we are as a society these days, loads of people where right on their phones taking video of the bloke being killed and posting or live streaming it, but no one though to just step in, suppose hard to get that perfect angle if you're wrestling some deranged idiot away from killing someone.
Back when I first at uni taking photography courses there was an old tired question always asked, if you were a photo-jurno and in a split second you could save a child or get a photo of the child falling/drowning, what do you do? I think we have answered that question mow.

What’s worse is the people sharing it online. Seems a complete disregard for his life to be passing it around like this.

Sharing a video online isn't worse than murdering a man. Just, you know, etc.

Mind you, I said that about that George Lloyd bloke that died in America. Ghouls filmed his "passing". I didn't approve.

You’re dealing with armed trigger happy US police officers. You’d have to have a death wish to intervene. And you can’t call the police on the police. At least this way you at least get some evidence to contravene whatever BS story the police would put out.

That's why the people in Italy were filming. Evidence.

In Folkestone, Kent, I saw a couple of blokes beat up a guy - he put up a fair fight at first - and when they finally decked him one sat on his chest and started to bang his head into the pavement. I walked up, aware that I could become their next target, and said, "You'd best stop or you're going to kill him, mate." He did. Immediately. He was in some kind of frenzy as if he wasn't aware of what he was doing. The two blokes (squaddies as it happened) walked away and were picked up later by plod. All on camera. My point is that getting involved in other people's violence is risky.
