Immediately following the match, there were clashes in the Belgrave area of Leicester, which resulted in eight people being arrested. There was further violence on Sep 5 and a total of 27 people were detained for questioning as part of a major police operation to tackle the trouble.



But since then, inflammatory comments and rumours posted on social media have inflamed tensions, according to the city’s mayor."
