Bud in a UK context is bad.

Using the “word” medaled once, just once, is overusing it. Blegh!

Bud in a UK context is bad. In a US context it’s horrible, unless you’re smoking rather than drinking.

Euthanised. www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-australia-65446354Shot, is what they mean. It's not like these crocs were flown to Switzerland and allowed to end their lives surrounded by their over ones, after one last glass of good wine.

That's bad. Is it different from euthanised?

"Passed" is shite because it implies an afterlife.

There isn't one.

I suppose it's a bit gentler than dead, and implies a sort of sympathy with respect for the possible religious beliefs of the bereaved. That's okay, but it's their belief, not yours.

It's especially wanky when they're talking about someone's dog.

While I try and be sensitive when telling relatives their loved one just died I never used "passed" to tell em. I do however just say dead, died in the chart and to colleagues, no need for anything else.

Passed, gone to a better place, etc, are horrible euphemisms. Your loved one is dead. Don’t try and soften the impact. It’s not like someone grazed their knee. And certainly don’t soften it with pseudo-religious bollocks.

yeah, I do mostly just say that, though occasionally you have to more sensitive, I usually say they've gone cos most euphemisms about death don't lessen the blow.

Gone is OK. They’re definitely gone. They’ve not just transcended off to another dimension where you’ll see them again. They are gone.

Started selling a few things on eBay. Haven't used it for a year or so.
When your item sold, you'd get an email titled 'Your item has sold -[blah]'.
Now it's titled 'You made the sale - [blah]'
Twats. I'm suprised they don't put an exclamation mark on it.
