Tbf they were left with a disastrous financial position by the last lot who'd spunked billions away on stupid policy such as not deporting a single person despite the millions wasted, and syphoning millions to their mates, so really the Tories handed them an easy way to get tax rises accepted as nessesary. And really tax is too low on the higher earners and too high on the lower earners so hopefully there will be a reset. |

The main problem with tax is that there aren't enough people paying it, and many that do aren't paying the right amount. I've said before that allowing payment by dividend is gross injustice.
Most people who claim they need to be paid as equity directors need no such thing and, while it's legal, is not very moral.

I think they have act surprised, in fact every tax raise by an incoming gov is couched as a suprise, or something regretful. No one gets elected by promising to raise tax to fix problems, even when the problems are as huge and costly as the UK faces now. |
