At least you wouldn't have the embarrassment of getting paid in a currency that's worth less than the Zimbabwe dollar.

Problem is (I think, anyway) that if I asked now to be paid in Kronor I'd still get the same as they'd use today's exchange rate to work out what my hourly rate should be. I think.
For sure, if you're working for an English firm. Best bet would be to start working for a swedish one lol ...or any other european country that actually uses the euro as currency .

Oh Christ, I can't cope with three currencies. Anyway doesn't the same apply all round, if the pound isn't buying many Euros then I won't get many Euros?
God I hate working for myself.

Well of course you wont get many euros for your pound .The idea is to get paid in a currency that aint sterling .Not get paid in sterling and then have it converted

I frelance for a company in the UK, innit. So I agreed an hourly rate with them in sterling, back in 2006, if I want to change it to another currency it would have to be based on current exchange rates.

Totally lost .You mean you signed a contract to say that the hourly rate will always be what it is and always will be paid in sterling ? Cant be else you could hardly call yourself a freelancer

Well no, I agreed an hourly rate and that it would be sterling. Due to a third of the company having been laid off I don't fancy my chances negotiating a better pay rate. I have no doubt they would pay me in tins of baked beans if I asked but can't see the point switching now if it means the same amount in kronor.

I dont reckon your chances on getting a higher pay rate but you would be better off asking for euro .And not a daily fluctuating one .An agreed rate based on todays exchange rate maybe .Cos its going to get worse not better

At current exchange rates...
£100 buys you 1,173 Kronor
100 euro buys you 1,086 Kronor
