Embrionic stem cells are a dead end. Adult stem cells are the way to the future.

If I was offered cells from embryonic stem cells for my diabetes I would decline the treatment. Firstly I prefer to keep the integrity of my body my own, and second I think it's full of unethical issues. Asult stem cell research might be ok.

Icas2, so no donated blood, skin, bone marrow or organs then either.
Nearly all of the stem cells used in current research comes from donated umbilical blood.

I am not against blood transfusions or organ replacement, but these do not involve the deliberate destruction of a human life I am not against all research in this field as I have a nephew who maybe could benefit from it. Some people are really ill with chronic diseases, I accept that. For myself I have for most of my life suffered from depression and now I have treatment for it I feel much better. I have had diabetes for 8 years now and because I eat a more balanced and healthy diet I feel really well. I go to bed before ten o'clock mostly and try to stick to my diet. I accept that I'm not in my 20's and 30's any more.

Science. I like science. But Obama is a liberal and they think that there is such a thing as social science. Nobody has ever been so wrong as a fcuking idiot who thinks that social science ever could exist. Yet people took courses in it and went on to evolve amazing ways to fcuk things up. Like the rampaging genius notion that even an abused child is better off with it's parents. Ask Baby P about that one.
Obama can push push all the stem cells he wants. That's science. But I hope he ignores the drippies. Britain could do with an example like that.

The appointment of Stephen Chui to Obama's cabinet was enough of an indicator that civilisation was about to return to the US. This just helps further.
Lawrence is only partially right about adult stem cells. Adult stem cells are already partially differentiated and are therefore not as theoretically versatile as embryonic ones. Treatments developed so far are all based on adult stem cells; but the greatest potential lies with embryonic ones, provided the white-coated boffins can get them to work.
