Sod it, I'm off to set fire to a giant panda. Wasteful. Recycle it as dinner. Yeah, not a bad idea. I'll make sure I cook too much though so I can waste a bit.

If you're lucky, some council workers might come round and offer you some suggestions on how best to make use of your leftover panda.

So we could help by smashing our bottles on roads and railway lines? Cool.

I believe your bottles are processed first, Mids. Roads aren't just made out of broken bottles.

That would cost a bomb in car tyres and puncture repairs!

We are told that the cans and plastic containers that go in our blue bins are to be washed out before binning them,,,this has causes several arguments between me and the wife as I refuse to waste my water to clean rubbish for the council especially as I already pay council tax for them to do it and if its they environment they are bothered about what about all the wasted water used to rins every tin and container.

According to a report I read, just one unwashed tin or bottle can result in the whole lorry load being sent to a landfill.
Staff are under instructions from H&S not to touch dirty items sent for re-cycling - resulting a whole days collection being wasted.

Watch the above video, it's excellent. I love the part when they're goofing on people by giving them 10 different colored bins for sorting every possible tiny type of garbage and seeing if they'll do it. ;D

Brilliant NY lol! I always wash the tins and plastic bottles out before putting them in my recycle bin. I must admit i didn't know about what happened if bottles/tins were unwashed, that's quite shocking to think all the recycled items could be wasted. I understand the health and safety aspect for the staff at the recycling plant though, it can't be nice sifting through mouldy foul smelling unwashed cans etc.
