What features would you like to have over here to make it feel as familiar as possible?
Maybe try and get the MSN smileys?
Archive some of the 'Hall of Fame' threads?

To be honest, it may be better to open a linked 'sister' site for all the archives. That way anyone can add any threads they wish over for the last two weeks or so, but a larger select Admin can monitor seperately.
It would be too much for one admin to control in here, and you need to keep this site tight.
Just a passing thought.

I have asked if they do this on Proboards, but sadly they don't! We could shift the whole site onto Multiply to archive, but there was one other that did this too I think? Maybe their formatting would be better?
I'll check it out.

I've managed to insert the code for the photo-uploader
I makes it similar to how we uploaded pics from our computers into messages back on MSN

I've applied to have my old errrm site migrated to yuku .Got a mail back straight away saying they would and I was in line but that was about two weeks ago and nothing has happened since .I'll let you know if it ever does in time and what they make of it

I hope we haven't missed the boat ... I'm not totally convinced it's worth migrating every single thing. I cant imagine anyone would ever want to go through 2,539,278 old posts - which is roughly the current amount of posts on there  But maybe that's what people want .... |

IMHO Foxy, I'd put the past in the past.
I've run an MSN group for 6 years and have decided - even though there are many jewels contained within the pages - it is not worth the bother in archiving the posts - which in numeric terms come no where near the amount of 'News' posts - as you rightly say, who would have the time to ever attempt to go back and read the posts.
More to the point how long would Multiply or Yuku consider keeping such a big archive on their servers on realising that the population of the News group (which they quickly will) hadn't migrated with the archive?
Its a new world now, MSN is (will soon be) history and maybe thats what should be thought about - a brief history of the News group since 1999 recorded here.
Having said that it would be painless to click and migrate so you can't do any harm if it makes you feel better.

It's a dammed if you do and dammed if you don't situation really isn't it? I think if anyone wants to bring stuff into the Hall of Fame for a specific reason, then go for it. It's easy for Admin to sort it out, if need be, later on. The important thing is here and now, getting this board up and running. There is one thing I am gonna bring over though.........  |

Yea I know all that and Id tell anyone else the same but I'm a hypocrite  . It's like a spot you know you should ignore but keep scratching at anyway .I never click on it ..its just the mere name .Seeing it day in day out and wondering why some people log on just to leave a word . They probably wonder why I leave so many, mind |

Sometimes a new fresh start's the best thing. Leave all the hassles behind (if there are any of course), fresh input etc.
MSN was just a learning curve for many groups.
