Thats the problem, a lot of these companies pay little or no tax. They employ a lot of lobbyist to get the loopholes put in.
Private Eye points this out every fortnight. Check out the court battle between the Guardian and Tesco. Guardian prints a report about tax avoidance Tesco sues and wins on a technicality. In doing so, has to exposes other tax avoidance schemes in court.

Well even if you don't get annoyed at large companies ripping off the government generally, I think we're all entitled to now that they're coming for handouts from the government.

Of course I could get really uptight about it and take to the streets and riot and force the government into closing all the loopholes so that those bastard big businesses pay more tax . I'd then sit back and wait for the government to lower my taxes..cos after all ,they wont need so much of mine then surely . And Id be a fool .Cos they wouldnt .And the big business would sack a few people to cover the raised taxes or bugger off completely .Then the government would need more taxes from me to cover all the poor buggers I'd helped to make redundant

I'm not sure I buy this "buggering off" idea wholesale. The UK banking market must be sufficiently lucrative to keep a few people interested in being part of it, even if they do make a bit less profit than they did before. I find it impossible to imagine that there would be no banks at all if we, you know, got them to pay the tax they are meant to pay and presumably knew they were meant to pay when they opened up in the first place.

if the system allows you to use loopholes then the systems at fault not those clever enough to use it! So why do we get more angry at a dole scrounger getting a few quid a week that they shouldn't get than we do at a bank getting away with bazillions a year that they shouldn't get? I really am puzzled. I guess it's all relative. A benefits scrounger reaps benefits amounting to potentially thousands per annum. A large company or a bank getting away with zillions on a larger scale is relative.

well of course they fecking are ! they're not daft. They're hardly going to plough back the money they've salted away in profits .They run big businesses to make big money ! and they do .If you want the business to carry on running and employing people then you have to stand back and watch while your taxes get used to prop it up.Oh I know it's a pretty nasty system ..but only when you're at the bottom of it

as all governments know you can only tax those that have no choice in the matter

Well in all honesty, and maybe I am in a minority of one, I'd rather see a few thousand of my tax money being wasted than billions of it. Who is on the receiving end matters much less to me than it seems to do with everyone else.

The world runs on a huge pyramid scheme .As with all pyramid schemes ,its the ones at the top who start the scheme that make money, and those who jump in at the end, lose. The solution is to start your own pyramid scheme

The trouble is VHW the thousands wasted on one benefit scrounger turns into millions, possibly billions, as there are so many of these creatures bleeding the system. This again makes it comparable with the banks and large companies.

Nah, the solution is to get knocked up, give up work and let the state take care of me, spending my days wandering round meeting friends in cafes to bore anyone within earshot to death about our children.

Oh and Ive just had a phone call from someone who works for one of the online selling portals I use .She wanted to make an appointment with me for a longer telephone call where we would discuss sales conceptions ( sheesh ) and she would offer me tips and advice on how to increase my sales volume .I know exactly what is needed to increase my sales volume .... How I managed to stay polite in my refusal and not tell her to feck off is the only mystery that remains with me

Quite simple really. It's because Brits - at least the Mail / Sun rightwing minority - are ignorant, bitter, hypocritical cnuts.
