Williamson was born in England, the second of three boys to Anglican parents. He attended Winchester College.[3] After taking a degree in literature at the University of Cambridge,[3] he taught at a college in Ghana.[4] During this time he was greatly influenced by Malcolm Muggeridge.
The Pope has re-instated Bishop Williamson, a totally unqualified idiot, who denies the Holocaust. This is the great problem of today. The lack of respect for those who know something about the subject and the acceptance of unqualified idiots.

He isn't unqualified. But his views are certainly disturbing.
However, whatever his views, provided they don't conflict with his obligations to his church then the church has little say in the matter.
However disagreeable we may find some people's views, that is not justification to harass him.
Holding these views isn't a crime.

Holding those views is a crime in some countries.
Once again all we hear is deafening silence from the so-called "decent" "moderate" Christian "majority". I assume that means tacit agreement and am appalled to find that Christians routinely deny the Holocaust.

No silence. Plenty of decent Christians have expressed their disagrement.
Perhaps you just need to listen.
There are many things illegal in some countries. For example, women not wearing a dark tent.
Fortunately, we in Britian don't sink to those levels.

If by feeble excuses, you mean why this man has not been expelled from the Church for his views.
Perhaps we could go further and sack oterwise perfectly good workers from their jobs for supporting the wrong political party.
There is no crime in denying the murders of WW2. However silly those views may be.

It would just be nice once in a while to hear Christians condemning the nasty things that people do even if it is another of their "brothers" doing the nasty.

You think they don't ? The Roman Catholic Church is not all Christianity, nor does it represent all Christians. The Catholic heirarchy definitely doesn't, nor do those who have personal views not held by most.
You know I've made this point before about other religions. That's why I asked if you were doing a cobblers.

Yes ok you got me. I was doing That Thing where you attempt to mete out the treatment routinely heaped on Muslims to another religion, only to find suddenly doing that is really unreasonable and silly in a way that, somehow, it isn't when it's Muslims.
I'll stop now as it's freedom time.

Christians do, very frequently and loudly. Perhaps you should listen more.
However, this man hasn't actually done anything. He just holds a strange point of view.

"Strange" is a mild way of putting it. More like "ignorant and very offensive".

He just holds a strange point of view. He also holds a position of authority in the Catholic Church. This unqualified idiot bases his views of the Holocaust on the Leuchter Report, the assessment of another unqualified idiot.

That's what idiots tend to do. They rarely base their 'odd' (being generous) ideas on established fact and common sense.

I very much doubt he will have any authority.
But simply holding strange points of view isn't enough reason to ostracise him
If that were the case we would be sacking workers who support political parties other than those which we support.
The issue is relevance.

Person who believes a Sky God watches over him and frowns on masturbation also holds odd views on history. Why are we surprised?

I would think that anyone who frowns on masturbation would have a rather distorted view of everything.
Science has made a number of serious claims about the dangers of masturbation and maintained these for a considerable time, even when the evidence was lacking.
Fortunately, since the 60s, science has come to a more rational view of this vital aspect of human health.

I very much doubt he will have any authority.
A bishop is in a position of authority. He is totally unqualified to comment on the technicalities of the Nazi gas chambers and a complete fool to acccept the opinion of Fred Leuchter on the subject. As a person of authority in the Church, his views carry weight with the foolish faithful.
But simply holding strange points of view isn't enough reason to ostracise him
It's possibly a good reason to demote him from his position of power and influence.
