I'm preyy sure we've all done something similar.

Now she's been accused of racism for immitating Chinese people.

Would she have been accused if she were anything other than a white girl?

Your use of that nickname is just as offensive to overweight people, as using golliwog to refer to a doll apparantly is to black people.
Believe me, as an overweight person, I know!

The book was very popular with children. I suppose it could be republished as Little Pink Boy.

I've just been reading up about it. Yes, Sambo was originally an Indian boy and it wasn't considered racist at all for 60 years, then it was withdrawn because someone decided "sambo" was a racist slur. Apparently the book did get relaunched as Sam and the Tigers at some point.

It is indeed but at the same time I'm finding it rather frustrating that there seems to be a wilful misunderstanding going on throughout the thread .And not by me ( of course )
I dont quite know how many ways you can say " an object ,in itself ,or a word ,in itself ,is not racist but the intent behind it can be " .I have discovered however that the only way of responding to the many ways that has been said is to more or less accuse the poster of supporting racism .

May I just add here that I've never heard a golliwog being racist .Though I'm quite sure Andy or Omni or Vania will come along and tell me that they have .
