"And lastly, although he would have considered it to be first, he was the most patriotic of Scotsmen.
Not sure what that means though.

All Scots in Scot land are hyper-patriots. You have to be. Choosing to live in Scotland is like choosing to have your figernails pulled out. You have to really want it.

Top sounding bloke. Even if you don't agree with his ideas, his patriotism and involvement are impressive. Makes me feel a bit ashamed of the quip I posted above: He came to Scotland aged 21 and worked as a bus conductor and bus driver before buying his own shop.
He subsequently owned shops, restaurants and a hotel before retiring from business.
He was elected five times as president of the Pakistan Welfare Association.
In 1995 he founded Scots Asians for Independence, and he had been a member of the SNP's national executive committee since 1998.
In 2003 he was elected as councillor for the Pollokshields East ward of Glasgow City Council.
He was elected as an SNP member of the Scottish Parliament for the Glasgow region and Scotland's first and only Asian MSP at the 2007 election.
He served on Cross Party Groups for Carers, Human Rights and Civil Liberties, Older People, Age and Ageing, Palestine and Tartan Day.
He was also a member of the Public Petitions Committee.
As well as his political interests Bashir was an active member of the Asian and Muslim communities in Glasgow attending a number of the committees of various mosques in the city. I suggest Scotland would be a great place if more Scots followed his example and did stuff to help make the country better, instead of lolling about watching Sky, say, or pissing off to New Zealand.

Oh dear, another one hiding behind a new nic. How tiresome. I've been jonren for nine years and will remain so. Coward is not in my vocabulary. You come across more of a pussy than a kitty.

Robbie Burns, had he seen modern Scots womanhood would have written, "For my love is like an o'er weight, sour faced cow, crammed into a lycra boob-tube too small for her and baggy track pants that don't concel her flabby arse, belly wobbling and glowing orange like she was frae Chernobyl and nae Cowcaddens, and an' if yer fool enough to climb aboard for five minutes o' the act of' love, ye'll come awf orange yersel'."

Ah, sanctimonious disapproval from Jonren, which proves my quip was, in fact, witty and well judged. So I'll say it again, even more forcefully:
All Scots in Scotland are hyper-patriots. You have to be. Choosing to live in Scotland is like choosing to have your figernails pulled out. You have to really want it.

'Top sounding bloke'? Pass the sick bag! And this is the first time (and probably last) I will hear Lala pay tribute to someone's patriotism, of all things. Is it cos he's a muslim?

Firslly, Burns is overateed shite and secondly I'm not hyper-anything, I'd wager there are more English hyper patriots than Scots, the BNP being a good example they should really be the ENP. Most Scots patrotics stuff is kept to sports events and Hogmanay. So up yer kilt :-P

Apparently something like 20% of all property on the Isle of Skye (or for the supposidly proper name for it now)...ahem...Eilean a' Cheo is owned by someone from down south. Great place to live even if it is for just a month or two a year
