I love this stuff. Hey i dont see why some big cats cant or arent alive on our hills. Its brilliant. Makes walking in the country so much more exciting the idea that you could be being stalked at any time excellent. Extreme rambling! heh heh

Being confronted by a giant pussy would be a frightening experience.

People in the countryside have been hoaxing the world for decades with the crop circles.
I really don't think the odd footprint is beyond them

You've spent far too long indoors Tarrant. The crop circles were a good joke played on the townies. I'm a country bumpkin and I see no reason why big cats can't survive and breed in Britain. They manage to breed in zoo's in this country - so the weather isn't a problem - and there's plenty of food and open spaces for them. (be afraid - be very afraid)

We have mountain lions periodically walking down the streets here, in a metropolis of a few million.

I'm a townie through to my bones. Lived in the countryside several times for periods. Boring and full of weird people with nothing to do. But you will never convince me that these reports are genuine. If they were, country people would be producing endless ripped up carcasses and demanding compensation and grants.

Well if there are just a few Tarrant, then its gonna be hard for them to hook up with another one of its species, not to mention whether the opposite sex of its species is one of the other cats wondering around the large area that we know as Great Britain. If there are just a few the likely hood of them beginning a family is very slim.

1. Cats scent mark. Cats, like all animals have a strong mating urdge. They would find each other.
2. Many big cat species can cross breed.
3. Where are their droppings? You can be sure a lot of rambler weirdo types would have found them by now.
4. What are they doing for food?
5. I recall these stories in the 60s. They are as old as the hills. 50 Years later, these cats would have bred to sizable populations.

Your answer still doesnt deal with the fact that maybe the majority of cats are one sex? thats certainly possible. As for finding each other, cats do territories, thats their patch so unless an opposite of sex cat comes into their territory then they arent going to hook up. Food? we have plenty rabbits across the land, foxes, badgers, deer, and yes there have been reports of farm animals being mauled in a dubious way as to suggest something rather large attacked them. Whether those stories are made up i dont know...but there have been mentions. But then again if there are only a few big cats out on our hills then you arent going to hear of too many attacks.
