news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7878211.stmTake the time to watch this video - I am apalled that people are so dammed stupid! The number of cases of motorists taking dangerous and illegal risks at UK level crossings is at a four-year high. Figures released by Network Rail show there were more than 3,400 cases of level crossing misuse last year, disrupting thousands of trains.

These people must have their schedules packed with extremely important appointments seeing that they can't wait for 5 seconds.

Dont be appauled. Just laugh. I mean they probably all shat themselves and wont do it again, but mind you some will. For those that try it, it sucks to be you when your luck runs out. Hope you all die.

The drivers of the trains would probably not be able to laugh it off. The lads in the Nova? are probably known to the Police, the fool whose car was clobbered by the barrier probably claimed on insurance for a rogue car park barrier.
Insurance should be suspended in that situation and the Police should be encouraged to investigate all vehicle incidents as they are more readily identifiable than the odd herbert on foot.
Is the camera quality good enough though?

We should also remember that more than one serious train crash has been caused by such fools.
The idiots might get killed, but the passengers and staff on the trains will also die.

Isn't all this surveillance state CCTV footage an infringement of their liberty and ancient freedoms...?

I saw some ad about level safety crossing when I was over. Some woman wibbling on about how the train was coming out of nowhere all of a sudden. Now, I have very poor directional hearing and often have my mind on far weightier matters that where I happen to be at any given time, but even I can spot thousands of tonnes of metal coming at me. It's not as if trains are known for sneaking up on you in disguise.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the videos on Sky last night. It was like the Keystone Cops/Buster Keaton - remember the mad stunts they used to do?
I wouldn't care about the idiots killing themselves, but it's the fact that they put 100s of other innocent lives in danger on the oncoming trains that gets my goat.

That's why they have flashing red lights, barriers, bells - that sort of thing.

If you have stood on a non stopping platform when an intercity flashes through - you will know you don't hear a thing till it's too late. Unless you see it, you won't know it's coming.

Yes, these new fangled train things are a serious danger to stupid people everywhere.
There should be a man with a little blue flag walking infrom of them telling everyone they are coming.
There should also be signs up saying that these trains can kill. How are people suppose to know trains can kill unless there are signs up say they will?
It's all the fault of this usueless government.
There weren't death trains before!!!

I used to use a level crossing regularly back inna days and a) I took extreme care on the thing because they scare me and b) if a train was coming you could hear it. Because they are very loud. They also often use a horn.
