BBC IN NEW THATCHER ROW, BUT THIS TIME IT’S MAGGIE NOT CAROL The crude comments, on the quiz show QI, prompted hundreds of complaints from viewers. The row comes just days after Lady Thatcher’s daughter Carol was sacked by the BBC for likening a black tennis player to a “golliwog” in a private backs tage conversation. Jo Brand, who stormed out of The One Show green room when Carol Thatcher made her remarks last month, caused her own furore on QI by comparing Lady Thatcher to a personal hair remover. She said: “It was great, actually, when she became Lady Thatcher, because then she sounded like a device for removing pubic hair.” The host, Stephen Fry, laughed and said: “It’s true. Absolutely. The Brazilian Lady Thatcher.” Later in the episode, when a doctored picture of the former prime minister was shown with her mouth and eyes altered, Phill Jupitus pointed and shouted: “Burn the witch!” The BBC admitted 200 viewers had lodged complaints about the programme, which was shown on Friday night at 9pm. www.express.co.uk/posts/view/84100/BBC-in-new-Thatcher-row-but-this-time-it-s-Maggie-not-Carol

I think I'm going to sue the BBC, because that's actually quite funny, which is something I'd never expect of Jo Brand.
There I was, expecting a story mentioning Jo Brand, to be utterly humourless and annoying, and it garnered a giggle, and that's not what I signed up for.

Jo Brand can be very funny. And she's a Palace fan so I won't hear a word against her.

That was much funnier because it was accidental.

She's great. She got heckled once and she said "If you don't shut up I'm going to come over there and sit on your face." The guys says "Yeah yeah you said that last week too" and she said "Yes, but I wasn't on my period then."
Top bird and no mistake.

Brand is a fat talentless lump of lard as well as an ugly cow. Now she can sue me. Adrian Chiles is shafting the Irish cow and denying it. She can sue me too.

I had recorded this, as I always do, and did watch it last night. Must admit to feeling a tad uncomfortable with this bit, but I was consoled when I reminded myself that Jo Brand is everything a woman shouldn't be!

"200 viewers had lodged complaints about the programme"
Fcuking hell. Who are these people? What catastrophe befell them in life to make them so. So. Pathetic?

Jo Brand is spectacularly unfunny. Her act for the past 25 years summed up:
"I'm fat. Men are sh*t. Periods."

Same kind of people that branded Miss Thatcher a racist Omni?

I doubt it somehow Sushi.
It's one thing refusing to be cowed by PC and calling a spade a spade (or a racist a racist, in the case of Thatcher).
This is a different kettle of fish.

Jo Brand is about as funny as terminal cancer: "Look at me, I'm fat"...
But I happened to see this and it was actually very amusing. It seems complaining to the BBC is the new black this season.

Well it's not really in the same league, is it? Using racially offensive/inflammatory language is hardly the same as saying "Lady Thatcher" sounds like a hair removal device. Burn the Witch is arguably much more offensive and maybe it was Phil Jupitus they were getting annoyed about.

Has anyone ever complained to the BBC about anything? I'm quite tempted to now that it's all fashionable and everything.
